Manor: Waxwing - 150 - c150 on Windy House Lane at13:55.

Manor Fields Park: Water Rail - 1 - in water course 16:00-16:15. ; Moorhen - 4 ; Mallard - 17 - 9M 8F reedbed pond 16:30.

Manor Oaks Farm: Ring-necked Parakeet - 1 - calling, flying over Manor Oaks Farm

Orgreave Lakes: BEAN GOOSE (Tundra/Taiga) - 1 - Tundra race bird among Greylags and 1 Pink-footed Goose until 16:10 when it flew east with half of flock. Greylags gather each afternoon at Orgreave feeding on "plains" before moving to lake then leaving around 4pm, presumably to roost.

Owler Bar: 319 - 1 - Flew low over the road to Barlow.

Parkgate Canal Basin: Whooper Swan - 1 - 2cy bird still present

Porter Clough: Common Buzzard - 1 ; Sparrowhawk - 2

R Don, Club Mill Road: Sparrowhawk - 2 - (pair?) briefly sparring ; Grey Heron - 1 - adult ; Bullfinch - 2+

Ringinglow: Raven - 2 - pair ; Red Grouse - 2 - calling Brown Edge

Sheffield Centre: Black-headed Gull - 50+ - drifting W over Wellington St

Silver Wood: Brambling - c20 - in beeches by path towards SE corner - first decent flock here for over fifteen years

Totley Moss: Short-eared Owl - 1 - In low flight over moor hunting

Crosspool: Waxwing - 19 - on Manchester Road.

Gleadless: Waxwing - 70 - flock of c70 birds Gleadless reformed church on Hollinsend Rd/Gleadless common junction at 15:00.

Lowfield: Waxwing - 100+ - Settled for short while at Hagglers Corner but flew off when school-kids came out en-masse for lunch break.

Manor: Waxwing - 45 - flock of c45 birds on Windy House lane at 13:50.

Orgreave Lakes: Stonechat - 2 - Pair, plantation large lake.

Penistone Rd/Bamforth St: Waxwing - c70 - outside Euro Car Parts coming down to sorbus berries
