  • Rotherham; Gin House Lane/Primrose Hill: Great Black-backed Gull - 30-40 - mostly ads/near ads, visiting recycling centre & loafing on adjacent roofs ; Herring Gull - c200 - visiting recycling centre & loafing on adjacent roofs; inc 7B0B (yellow) again ; Mistle Thrush - 2 - over ; Magpie - 30-40 ; Rook - c10 ; Carrion Crow - c20 ; Jackdaw - c20 ; Grey Wagtail - 1 ; Sparrowhawk - 1 - over, heading E ; Pheasant - 5 - 1m; 4f, disturbed by prowling vixen
  • Shepherd Wheel: Black-headed Gull - 1 ; Kingfisher - 1 - Male, caught & ate 9 fish in 10-15 minutes. Possibly same male seen earlier in Endcliffe Park
  • Silver Wood: Lesser Spotted Woodpecker - 1 - working its way up higher reaches of a beech in SE corner at 11.45 then flew deeper into woods (possibly joined a mobile tit flock). ; Tawny Owl - 1 - calling at 06.55 ; Fieldfare - c50 - in field of winter wheat beyond northern edge of woods
