  • Manor Fields Park: Snipe - 3 - 2 reedbed13:25 1 lower watercourse 13:40 ; Golden Plover - 31 - flew over S/W 14:08 ; Fieldfare - 58 - flock of 50 over S +8 on site. ; Meadow Pipit - 1 - over S. ; Moorhen - 4 - reedbed pond
  • Millhouses: Fieldfare - 1 - very infrequent garden visitor ; Siskin - 2 - very briefly
  • Orgreave Lakes: Ringed Plover - 3 ; Golden Plover - 13 ; Redshank - 1 ; Dunlin - 2 ; Lapwing - c200 ; Pink-footed Goose - 325 - Two skeins: 250 North at 15:45, 73 NW 16:50 ; Snipe - 12 - Most around edges of small lake ; Grey Plover - 1 - On west side of Big Lake early morning ; Dunlin - 2 - Around small lake late afternoon ; Grey Partridge - 3 - 2 on 'Plains', 1 on tip at west side of small lake. ; Reed Bunting - 25 - Feeding on tip ; Grey Plover - 1 ; Jack Snipe - 1 - Dropped into rushes on eastern side of Big Lake ; Fieldfare - 6 - In plantation between haul road and west side of Big Lake.
  • Parkgate Canal Basin: Mute Swan - 60-70 ; Mallard - c40 ; Black-headed Gull - c80 ; Greylag Goose - 1 - present @ 1615hrs

  • Rawmarsh:Haugh Rd: Whooper Swan - 8 - N @ 17.15 ; Pink-footed Goose - 90 - W @ 16.55 ; Golden Plover - 4 - SW ; Snipe - 1 - SW @ 15.35 ; Fieldfare - 30 - SW
  • Rotherham Centre; Don Canal: Meadow Pipit - 1 - confiding bird feeding by canal, presumably forced down by bad weather
  • Sheffield Centre: Mistle Thrush - 3 - Noisily squabbling over berries on Arundel Street
  • Walkley garden: Fieldfare - c 30 - Flew in to ash tree from N and down into gardens.
  • Whiteley Woods: Treecreeper - 1 ; Long-tailed Tit - 3 ; Grey Wagtail - 1 ; FIRECREST - 1 - late afternoon in trees by Shepherd Wheel.

  • Bingham Park: Kingfisher - 1 - Male, stalked by Black & White cat on far bank - seen it before, it fell in the water the other week as it attempted to get at birds.

  • Moore St Roundabout: Redwing - 12+ - near junction with Ecclesall Road
  • Neepsend: Goosander - 2 - pair on weir
  • Oughtibridge garden: Grey Wagtail - 1 - Foraging on lawn
  • R Don, Rotherham Centre: Goosander - 6 - 2m; 4f ; Cormorant - 1 - imm; left SW
  • R Don, Stevenson Rd: Common Gull - 3 - adults ; Great Black-backed Gull - c25 ; Herring Gull - c30
  • Rawmarsh:Haugh Rd: 321 - 2 - N @ 16.40
  • Shirebrook Valley: Woodcock - 1 - Flew down into rough field (sometimes cattle field) on Sally Clarkes Hill, just as light had gone.
