  • Agden Rocher: Tawny Owl - 02-Mar - 2 or 3 juveniles heard calling in trees alongside sick brook.
  • Barbrook Plantation: Tawny Owl - 1+ - adult plus a downy young bird clambering up a treetrunk ; Pied Flycatcher - 4+ - 2 prs taking food into nest boxes ; Redstart - 4 - 2 prs taking food to nests ; Mistle Thrush - 1 - a fledged bird ; Robin - 1+ - carrying food ; Wren - 1+ - carrying food
  • Bingham Park: Grey Wagtail - 1 - With food ; Blue Tit - 1 - entering & leaving nest in tree ; Robin - 1
  • Endcliffe Park: Blackcap - 1 - male singing near lower lake at 07:35
  • Forge Dam: Mandarin - 7 - 5 Ducklings ; Jay - 1 - Caught & killed something

  • R Sheaf, Heeley - Broadfield Road: Moorhen - 2 - 1 adult, 1 well-grown chick
  • Scholes Coppice: Tawny Owl - 1 - juvenile? calling regularly, exposed on branch high in canopy, mobbed by c.7 Magpies
  • Walkley garden: Starling - 40+ - largest daily number this week.
  • West Nab: Little Owl - 1 ; Cuckoo - 1 - the " cuckwoo " calling bird now in the west nab area.
  • Whinfell Quarry Gardens: 321 - 1 - over ; Bullfinch - 2 - a pair
  • Whiteley Woods: Dipper - 1

Tuesday 31st May 2022

  • Canklow Woods: Red Kite - 1 - slowly north 1450 to 1453
  • Endcliffe Park: Mandarin - 6 - female + 5 young on upper lake
  • Handsworth garden: Swift - 7 - Over,low in downpour
  • High Bradfield: Yellowhammer - 2 - both singing males. ; Lapwing - 2 - adult feeding with large juvenile.
  • Meadowhall: Oystercatcher - 1 - over calling
  • Moorland Fringe: Nightjar - 2 - churring males at one site
  • Rawmarsh; Stubbin incline: Common Buzzard - 1 - over briefly, hanging in breeze @ 1505hrs
  • Redmires conduit: Snipe - 1
  • Rivelin Valley: Mandarin - 2 - adult female with 1 duckling on river downstream of Hollins Lane bridge.
  • Woodall Common: Red Kite - 1
