• Firsby Res: Moorhen - 2 - Adults chicks not seen. ; Coot - 3 - Pair with single chick. ; Mallard - 2 - Both Males. ; Gadwall - 1 - Male main Res. ; Kingfisher - 1 - Fishing on small Res. ; Kestrel - 1 - Hunting over set aside field. First obs for some time. ; Swift - 2 ; House Martin - 8+ ; Swallow - 4 ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - 4 - All adults. ; Black-headed Gull - 2 - Singles over. ; Tree Sparrow - 2+ - Juv begging for food on cottage roof and adult going under drainpipe to nest hole. ; Reed Bunting - 2 - Female carrying food, Male singing. ; Chaffinch - 1 - Male on road. ; Goldfinch - 1 - On ground. ; Bullfinch - 1+ - Heard calling. ; Reed Warbler - 1 ; Sedge Warbler - 1 ; Chiffchaff - 2 ; Whitethroat - 1 ; Willow Warbler - 3 ; Blackcap - 4 - All warblers singing/ calling. ; Pied Wagtail - 1 - Juv ; Treecreeper - 1 ; Song Thrush - 1 - Singing.
• Fitzwilliam Canal, Parkgate: Chiffchaff - 4 - inc 2 singing ; Song Thrush - 2 - inc 1 singing ; Lesser Whitethroat - 1 - singing ; Blackcap - 2 - singing ; Treecreeper - 1 - calling ; Stock Dove - 1 ; Long-tailed Tit - 1+ ; Mallard - 1+ - f + 3 juvs ; Grey Heron - 1 - imm ; Whitethroat - 1 - singing ; Bullfinch - 1 - calling ; Chaffinch - 1 - singing ; Black-headed Gull - 3 - adults; one caught small fish by plunge-diving
