  • Botanical Gardens: Blackcap - 1 - male singing in tree below Mediterranean Garden at 13:30
  • Brownhills Lane, Redmires: Curlew - 45+ - Feeding and resting in fields above the lane.
  • Burbage Edge: 324 - 1 - Oak Eggar caterpillar
  • Ecclesall: Common Buzzard - 3 - inc pair displaying

Unexpected location for species ; 320 - 5 - 4 Male 1 female on river between Litton Mill and Cresswell. ; Tufted Duck - 4 - 3 Male 1 female ; Little Grebe - 1 - Summer plumage ; Mandarin - 5 - 4 m 1 f, in flight
  • R Wye, Miller*s Dale: 319 - 7 - Soaring on thermals

  • Redmires Middle Res: Curlew - 132 - Roosted this evening ; Oystercatcher - 3 - Roosted ; Fieldfare - 31 - W late afternoon, presumably to roost on moors
  • Silverwood Lagoon: Curlew - 1 - north at 08.00
  • Waverley: Golden Plover - 29 - On waste ground adjacent to AMRC ; Snipe - 1 - On waste ground adjacent to AMRC ; Lapwing - 12 - Six pairs ; Grey Partridge - 2 - Pair ; Skylark - 10 - At least 10 ; Lapwing - 1 - Pair adjacent to Mclaren
