Wharncliffe Heath NR: Pied Flycatcher - 2 ; Redstart - 1 - singing ; Treecreeper - 5+ - nest with 5 juvs ; Great Spotted Woodpecker - 4+ - 2 adults and juveniles in nest in silver birch ; Woodcock - 1

Wharncliffe Wood: Spotted Flycatcher - 1 - singing near plank gate ; Wood Warbler - 2 - one singing in a new location (5 territories total in wood), another alarming elsewhere

Forge Dam: Ring-necked Parakeet - 1 - fairly regular sighting here over last month, maybe nesting locally?

R Don, Effingham St: Canada Goose - 3 - pair, female still sat on nest (first noted incubating on 10th April, so not a good sign as normally 24-32 days), male in attendance, third bird flew over ; Herring Gull - 33 - mainly imms ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - 15 ; Black-headed Gull - 36 - mainly 2cy
