Wharncliffe Wood: Nuthatch - 16+ - 8 nests in bird boxes to the south of the wood ; Blue Tit - 32+ - 16 nests ; Great Tit - 20+ - 9 nests ; Tree Pipit - 3 - one singing and a pair ; Common Buzzard - 3

White Edge: Cuckoo - 1 - Flying between trees just above Grouse Inn ; Raven - 2

Woodhouse Washlands: Goosander - 6 - Female with 5 chicks

Woodseats: Red Kite - 1 - After first drifting quite low to north gained height and eventually went south towards Grave Park.

Bar Brook Valley: Ring Ouzel - 1 - Male in tree just below Little Barbrook Res ; Whinchat - 2 - Pair ; Stonechat - 2 - Pair ; Raven - 1 - Chased off by Carrion Crow ; Wheatear - 1

Barbrook Plantation: Spotted Flycatcher - 2 - Pair ; Redstart - 4 - A pair and 2 singing males

Beeley Wood: Great Tit - 2+ - Nest in rot hole at the base of large beech tree by main path ; Grey Wagtail - 6+ - at least 3 pairs close to river don

Blacka Moor: Cuckoo - 2 - Two calling from opposite sides of valley. ; Snipe - 3 - 3 drumming and landing in grass above Strawberry Lee Pastures ; Wood Warbler - 4 - 4 singing - 3 between Piper's and Devil's Elbow Gates and 1 north edge of woodland. All 4 were in different territories than those recorded last week ; Mistle Thrush - 3 ; Pied Wagtail - 2 ; Skylark - 5 ; Linnet - 1 ; Willow Warbler - 13+ heard ; Chiffchaff - 4 heard ; 324 - 2 - Red Deer
