  • Ecclesall: Siskin - 20 - flew S - large numbers moving down east coast apparently
  • Emlin Moor, Agden: Cuckoo - 1 - ad flew over road
  • Limb Valley: Song Thrush - 2, - being harried by Magpie ; Chiffchaff - 3
  • Lodge Moor: Whitethroat - 3 - singing along footpath by Sportsman playing fields
  • Oughtibridge: Oystercatcher - 1 - Heading South
  • Peat Pits: Lapwing - 2 - adult with small chick.
  • Redmires conduit: Curlew - 2 - One adult and chick in horse fields, possibly a week or so old. Photographed from the path.
  • Redmires Res: Canada Goose - 11 - 4 ads & 7 young ; Mallard - 21 - inc 3 females & 4 broods totalling 15 young ; Common Sandpiper - 2 - flushed by two nude female swimmers. Words fail me... ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - 40 ; Black-headed Gull - 25 - flew W - first discernible movt ; Whitethroat - 5 - singing ; Crossbill - 6 - flew W ; Siskin - 10 - flew W ; Garden Warbler - 1 - singing
  • Ringinglow: Kestrel - 2 - juvs feeding on muckheap in field ; Pied Wagtail - 1
  • Shillito Wood: Pheasant - 1 ; Robin - 1 ; Blackbird - 1 ; Garden Warbler - 1 - singing ; Coal Tit - 1 ; Blue Tit - 5+ ; Great Tit - 4+ ; Chaffinch - 3+ ; Yellowhammer - 3
  • Strines: Grasshopper Warbler - 1 - reeling between A57 and Sugworth Road
  • Treeton SF: Sedge Warbler - 1 - Singing male ; Yellow Wagtail - 2 - In field to the south.
  • Ulley Brook Bog: Lesser Whitethroat - 2 - 1 adult feeding well grown juv ; 324 - 2 - Roe deer ; 324 - 1 - Stoat
  • Upper Newbold (nr Chesterfield): Swift - 13 ; House Martin - 2 ; Swallow - 7
  • Wharncliffe Heath NR: Crossbill - 4 ; Nightjar - 8+ - a minimum of 6 males churring, wing clapping and calling in flight recorded between observers, the most either has recorded on the site.
  • Wharncliffe Wood: Crossbill - 15

  • Abney: Pied Wagtail - 1 ; Swallow - 7+
  • Abney Clough: Jay - 1 - heard
  • Birley Edge: Swift - 8
  • Botanical Gardens: Bullfinch - 2 - pr
  • Bretton Clough: Sparrowhawk - 1 ; Redstart - 2 - 2 singles ; Willow Warbler - 7+ ; Jay - 1 - heard ; Chiffchaff - 1
  • Broomhead Moor: Red Grouse - 6+ - Two adults and four juveniles - bred
  • Canyards: Woodcock - 2 - At least two roding ; Curlew - 3 - Adult and two chicks
  • Deepcar: Chiffchaff - 3+ - 2 singing and juvenile seen in scrub near river don
  • Eyam Moor: Skylark - 5+ ; Curlew - 2 - heard distantly from the Moor ; Nuthatch - 1 - Landed briefly on a rock before flying off over the Moor. ; Pheasant - 1+ - female, at least 2 small chicks ; Stonechat - 2 - 1m,1f ; 324 - 1
  • Greno Wood: Woodcock - 1 - Roding from 21.40
  • Highlow Brook: 321 - 1 ; Chiffchaff - 1 - heard ; Willow Warbler - 1 - heard
  • Houndkirk Moor: Curlew - 1 - Chasing a Crow off
  • Norton Lees garden: 324 - 1 - Speckled Wood
  • R Derwent, Grindleford: Grey Wagtail - 1 ; Redstart - 1 - Male ; Kestrel - 1 - Male ; Swift - 3 ; 319 - 1 ; Mandarin - 1 - Well grown duckling ; Blackcap - 2 - M&F, together
  • R Don, Effingham St: Yellow-legged Gull - 1 - 3cy on weir ; Great Black-backed Gull - 1 - 2cy on weir ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - c20 ; Herring Gull - 6 ; Canada Goose - 2 - female still stood over nest, no sign of any eggs.
  • Rawmarsh; High Street: Pied Wagtail - 1 - independent juv on roof
  • Redmires Top Res: Common Sandpiper - 1 - along dam wall ; Mallard - 8+ - including 2 females with one half-grown chick and 4+ fresh chicks respectively around NE corner of res/ conduit outflow ; Woodcock - 3 - roding, including two chasing
  • Rivelin: Dipper - 4+ - Pair feeding at least two young at nest site ; Kingfisher - 1 ; Grey Wagtail - 2
  • Stanley Hill: Linnet - 8 - On telegraph wires crossing footpath
  • Stannington: Siskin - 1m 1f - 1m 1f in feeders in our garden..a first for us here
  • Stubley Hollow: Chiffchaff - 3 ; Blackcap - 2 ; Whitethroat - 2 ; Swallow - 5
  • Totley Moss: Curlew - 10 - 9 together, then lone single ; Lapwing - 2 ; Reed Bunting - 1 ; 324 - 7 - 7 Red Deer

  • Ash Cabin Flat: Woodcock - 3+ - sixteen flyovers involving at least 3 different birds. ; Curlew - 1
  • Baslow: Siskin - 3 - Pair in garden, female feeding recently fledged juvenile
  • Beauchief Ponds: Nuthatch - 1 ; 324 - 1 - Red Admiral
