  • Offerton Hall: Spotted Flycatcher - 2
  • Offerton Moor: Red Kite - 1 - flew over. Resident at Offerton Hall says she sees one regularly as does a resident at Little Hucklow (other side of hill).
  • Orgreave Lakes: Lapwing - 4 - Pair with two full grown juvs
  • Pilsley(Near Chatsworth): Red Kite - 1
  • Porter Valley: Barn Owl - 1 - hunting over fields ; Barn Owl - 1 - another photo ; Barn Owl - 1 - another photo
  • R Don, Effingham St: Black-headed Gull - 20 - 1 juv
  • R Don, Rutland Rd: Sand Martin - 8 - Nesting in wall alongside R Don
  • Raynor Clough: Yellowhammer - 1 - singing in upper part of clough. ; Curlew - 2 - in upper part of clough. ; Lapwing - 2 - in upper part of clough. ; Stonechat - 1 - male at top end of clough, near Swanheight. ; Reed Bunting - 1 - singing at top end of clough, near Swanheight. ; Willow Warbler - 1 - singing in scrub near top end of clough ; Linnet - 1 - singing at top end of clough near Swanheight. ; Curlew - 2 - in field across road from Swan Cottage.
  • Redmires Bottom Res: Ringed Plover - 2 - feeding on exposed mud at lower end of reservoir
  • Redmires Res: Moorhen - 1 - ad still sat on eggs by Top Res ; Curlew - 1 - ad guarding single check along conduit ; Snipe - 2 ; Whitethroat - 5 - family party by Middle Res ; Garden Warbler - 3 - singing ; Spotted Flycatcher - 2 - singing ; Swift - 10 ; Raven - 1
  • Rivelin Dams: Little Grebe - 3 - Ad and 2 juvs on Top Res ; Tufted Duck - 2 - males ; Whitethroat - 1 - singing by Top Res ; Great Spotted Woodpecker - 1 ; Dipper - 1 - by overflow on Top Res ; Siskin - 5 - Family party ; Lesser Redpoll - 1
  • Rocher End: Redstart - 3+ - at least 3 recently-fledged juveniles in scrub to north of Rocher End Plantation.
  • Spout House Hill: Meadow Pipit - 1 - adult taking food to nest. ; Hobby - 1 - over trees and farm buildings, drifted away to west. ; Curlew - 2 ; Lapwing - c25 - post-breeding flock with starlings ; Skylark - 2
  • Treeton Dyke: Mute Swan - 4 - 2 pairs at each end of the dyke, both with 5 cygnets.
  • Wharncliffe Wood: Crossbill - 10 - Flying over wood ; Crossbill - 15 - Groups of 10 and 5
  • Wyming Brook: Wood Warbler - 1 - singing ; Spotted Flycatcher - 1 - singing

  • Edale: 321 - 1 ; Cuckoo - 1 heard

  • Houndkirk Moor: Curlew - 7 - Seen from car. One chasing off a Crow.
  • Mam Nick NT Car Park: Great Tit - 3 - adult feeding 2 juvs ; Nuthatch - 1 ; Goldfinch - 2
  • Mam Tor: Swift - 10+ ; Skylark - 3+ ; Jackdaw - c40
  • Mam Tor area: Stonechat - 2 ; 324 - 1 - Hare
  • Mam Tor ridge: Kestrel - 1
  • Middleton Moor: Pied Wagtail - 1+ - adult feeding 2 fledged young
  • Middlewood: Red Kite - 1 - drifting towards Hillsborough

  • Silverwood Lagoon: Tufted Duck - 1+ - female with young brood of about a dozen ; Cormorant - 3 - north at 08.20 ; Coot - 15+ - good breeding success this year, at least four broods being fed at present ; Reed Warbler - 8+ - 3-4 singing males, two pairs feeding young ; Little Grebe - 8+ - Two pairs feeding young, two other pairs still present ; Pied Wagtail - 1 ; Jay - 4 ; House Martin - c.15 - over Woodlaithes end of pit top
  • Stanage: Kestrel - 1 ; Stonechat - 5 - 4 a possible family group ; Meadow Pipit - 2+ ; Curlew - 1 ; Snipe - 1 ; Willow Warbler - 1
  • Weston Park: Moorhen - 4 - 1 adult and 3 juveniles
  • Winnats Pass: Swift - 4+ ; Swallow - 1

Thursday 18th June 2020

  • Fulwood Lane: Barn Owl - 1 - hunting on rough ground
  • Howden Res: Canada Goose - 40+ - in W arm, including a pair with 7 half-grown goslings ; Common Sandpiper - 3 - on shoreline calling at different points; presumed three breeding pairs ; 319 - 1 - circling and calling
  • Ladybower Res, North arm: Cuckoo - 1 - heard ; Curlew - 1
