Oughtibridge, Birks Wood: Siskin - 5+ - flying between houses around bottom of Birkswood Drive. Mostly adult males.

Parkgate Canal Basin: Blackcap - 2 - 1 singing ; Mallard - 44 ; Mute Swan - 12 ; Sand Martin - 1 ; Stock Dove - 2 - display & attempted copulation

Parkgate; *Banana* plantation: Great Tit - breeding confirmed ; Wren - breeding confirmed ; Blackcap - 2 - singing

Pike Low, Ewden valley: Red Kite - 1 ; Raven - 5 - mobbing kite from time to time

R Derwent, Hathersage: Mandarin - 6 - 6 females and c25 juvenile

Ravenfield Park: Siskin - 3 - Over entrance gate calling. ; Lapwing - 30+ - Flock in crops.

Redmires Bottom Res: Ringed Plover - 2

Totley: Tree Sparrow - 2 - Adults feeding young in nest box.

Walkley Bank: Siskin - 1 - male on seed-feeder in garden.

Bamford: Red Kite - 1 - Over golf course

Barbrook Plantation: Redstart - 2 - a pair feeding fledged young ; Spotted Flycatcher - 1 ; Pied Flycatcher - 2 - a pair still feeding young in nest box. No others seen

Bolehill Flash: Little Egret - 1 - over S from Canklow

Burbage Valley: Stonechat - 4 ; Blackcap - 1 ; Willow Warbler - 3 ; Goldcrest - 1 ; Snipe - 2 ; Whitethroat - 1

Catcliffe Flash: Hobby - 1 - Flew off and over the R Rother, p.m. ; Hobby - 1 - over S

Fulwood: 319 - 2 - Sightings of 4 singles over observer’s garden during the day, involving at least 2 birds ; Kestrel - 2 - Over observer’s garden three times mobbing Buzzard and very vocal; presumed breeding nearby ; Woodpigeon - 4 - 2 adults and 2 fledged juvs in observer’s garden ; Dunnock - 2+ - Pair and fledged juv in observer’s garden

Hassop: Redstart - 2 - seen briefly. One was a male

Hurlfield: Red Kite - 1 - Circled high over observers house 16:50 then drifted WNW. ; Common Buzzard - 1

Leadmill Bridge: Kingfisher - 1 - my only record in over 80 hours in SK28 Apr-Jun

Midhope Res: Tufted Duck - 10 - Female with 6 ducklings + 3 adult males ; Little Grebe - 8 - 4 adults + 4 juvs (2 well grown + 2 much younger) ; 320 - 1 - Heard ; Siskin - 5+ ; Crossbill - 5+ ; Willow Warbler - 10+ - Several singing + at least 2 juvs ; Chiffchaff - 4 - Singing ; Blackcap - 1 ; Greylag Goose - 74 - Single group incl numerous juvs. ; Oystercatcher - 3 ; Long-tailed Tit - 4+ - Juvs in mixed tit group ; Coal Tit - 4+ - Juvs in mixed tit flock
