  • Longshaw: Swallow - 4
  • Millhouses Park: Mandarin - 7 - female and six small ducklings. ; Moorhen - 1 - Incubating the third clutch this year. Only one half grown juv survived previous attempts and hasn’t been seen recently.
  • Norfolk Heritage Park: Kestrel - 1 - Flying low appeared to be scanning for prey - first time I've seen one over the park.
  • Orgreave Lakes: Grasshopper Warbler - 1 - reeling ; Greenshank - 2 - 2 briefly then flew south ; Common Scoter - 11 - 8 drakes and 3 females until 7:40
  • Padley Gorge: Treecreeper - 1 - Juv
  • R Don, Effingham St: Canada Goose - 14 - at least 2 family parties, one adult with angel wing. ; Yellow-legged Gull - 1 - second summer
  • Redmires conduit: Curlew - 3 - Adults with 1 juvenile at end of conduit
  • Redmires Top Res: Little Grebe - 2 - 2 juveniles
  • Sothall: Peregrine - 1 - over at 1530hr mobbed by Lesser-b-b-gulls
  • Upper Burbage Bridge: Ring Ouzel - 1 ; Whinchat - 5 ; Red Grouse - 1

  • Agden Side: Whitethroat - 1 - singing
  • Aldwarke: Mute Swan - 3 - 2 @ 0640 & 1 @ 0704hrs, all SW ; Herring Gull - 2 - SW ; Cormorant - 2 - SW @ 0715hrs
  • Aldwarke; Liberty Steel: Peregrine - 2 - both apparently adults, sat on chimneys for most of morning.
  • Blackburn Meadows NR: Nuthatch - 1 - Caught and ringed. Only the 2nd one I've ever seen here in 40 years.
  • Cowell Flat: Grasshopper Warbler - 1 - reeling from Bracken. ; Snipe - 1
  • Dukes Road: Hobby - 2 - hawking insects Hurkling Stones-Hobson Moss-Hollingdale.
  • Kimberworth: House Martin - 6
  • Loxley Chase: Curlew - 3 - ad and 2 well grown chicks.
  • Mayfield Valley: Green Woodpecker - 1 - In field with Corvids on David Lane ; Swallow - 6 - Four fledged juveniles being fed by adults on junction of Foxhall Lane & Harrop Lane ; 324 - 1 - Brown Hare in field on Harrop Lane
