  • Blackburn Meadows NR: Song Thrush - 2 - Singing 08.20 ; Goosander - 3 - 2 male, ! female on canal. ; Cormorant - 1 - canal. ; Bullfinch - 4 - 1 pair nr Jordan Lock 08.50. 1 pair on reserve. ; Snipe - 7 ; Jack Snipe - 1 ; Mute Swan - 1 - Juvenile, canal 08:50.
  • Centenary Riverside: Cormorant - 9 - 5 W + 2 onto river; 2 NE ; Song Thrush - 6 - inc 4 singing along river within 50m of eachother ; Goosander - 1 - drake on river ; Mallard - 6prs - on river ; Moorhen - 2 - calling ; Mute Swan - 1 - in from N, circled & left NW @ 0824hrs ; Great Black-backed Gull - 2 - adults, W ; 320 - present - drakes heard calling from typha; water levels very high after recent flooding of site due to heavy rain.
  • Chatsworth Park: Pink-footed Goose - 1 - still with the Canada Geese, by the River Derwent. ; Grey Heron - 1 ; Redwing - c. 30

  • Orgreave Lakes: CASPIAN GULL - 1 - 1st winter Caspian Gull currently on Big Lake. Looks like the Attercliffe bird ; CASPIAN GULL - 1 - 1st winter still present at 10:20 ; Yellow-legged Gull - 1 - 2nd winter among Herring Gulls and Caspian Gull ; Stonechat - 2 - Female in plantation at northern end of Small Lake and another in plantation on western side of Big Lake.
  • Parkgate Canal Basin: Mallard - c70 ; Mute Swan - 67 - inc 17 2cy ; Herring Gull - 8 - max; taking advantage of swan feeding time ; Black-headed Gull - c100

  • R Don, Rotherham; Grafton Bridge: Song Thrush - 1 - singing ; Mute Swan - 1 - 2cy in middle of A633, blocking traffic @ 0735hrs; Manhandled & returned safely to river. ; Goldcrest - 1
  • Rawmarsh:Haugh Rd: Cormorant - 1 - SW ; Canada Goose - 4 - NW @ 08.20 ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - 2 - N ; Herring Gull - 6 - S ; Great Black-backed Gull - 3 - S
  • Redmires Conduit: Lapwing - c40 - Flew over but 4 settled in horse fields.
  • Sheffield Airport: CASPIAN GULL - 1 - 1st winter late afternoon,the Attercliffe bird.
  • Shillito Wood: Yellowhammer - up to 8 ; Reed Bunting - up to 5
