  • Hangingwater: Tawny Owl - 2 - 1 calling from Whiteley Wood, 1 responding from Bingham Park
  • Orgreave Lakes: 322 - 1 - Bar-headed Goose on small lake with Canadas.
  • Redmires Plantation: Lesser Whitethroat - 1
  • Redmires Res: Lapwing - 35 - c. 30 + pair with 3 young in fields ; Oystercatcher - 2 - in from N ; Curlew - 56 - in fields early evening - good post-breeding count ; Little Ringed Plover - 7 - 2 pairs inc 1 pair with 3 young on Top Res ; Common Sandpiper - 2 - pair with young ; Nightjar - 3 - pair in clear felled area + single churring male in separate clear area adjacent to Top Res ; Woodcock - 3 - roding ; Tawny Owl - 1 - sat out in clear fell area

  • Brownhills Lane: Curlew - 15 - all in one mowed field
  • Meersbrook Park: Goldfinch - 2 ; Pied Wagtail - 2 ; Mistle Thrush - 1 ; Magpie - 14+ including some well-grown juvs
  • Orgreave Lakes: Yellow-legged Gull - 1
  • Peat Pits: Curlew - 32 - single group feeding in recently mowed field .
  • R Don, Effingham St: Yellow-legged Gull - 1 - 3s on weir ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - c80 - mainly imms ; Herring Gull - c15 - mainly imms
  • Redmires conduit: Golden Plover - 2 - at far end ; Snipe - 2 ; Curlew - 6 ; Lapwing - 10+ - including juvenile ; Skylark - 1 ; Red Grouse - 2 ; Linnet - 2 ; Meadow Pipit - c.7 ; House Martin - 02-Apr ; Swallow - 2 ; Pheasant - 1 ; 324 - 2 - Water Vole - both showing well

  • Barrow Hill: Red Kite - 1 - hunting early morning by roadside just before road off to Breck Farm
  • Brincliffe Edge: Raven - 1 - mobbed by crows
  • Centenary Riverside: Kestrel - 1 - Hunting over site, 07.10 and again 07.40 ; Song Thrush - 4 - 2 singing, 2 juveniles path near bridge. ; Blackcap - 1 - Singing ; Willow Warbler - 2 - Singing ; Reed Warbler - 2 - Singing ; Whitethroat - 4 - 2 pair, agitated behaviour, presumed nests nearby. ; Bullfinch - 1 - Male ; Black-headed Gull - 1 - Flew over pond ; 321 - 1 - River ; Goldfinch - 05-Jun
  • Dore: House Sparrow - 3+ - After an absence of many years they have now returned to this 1960's estate. 3 males gathering pampas grass seed-heads for nests.
  • Endcliffe Park: Mandarin - 4 - 1f + 3 juv in top pond ; Grey Heron - 1 - in tree in top pond ; Blackcap - 1 - singing between ponds
  • Endcliffe Park (Hunters Bar): Swift - 9 - circling high and calling
  • Graves Park: Swift - 13+
  • High Bradfield: Red Kite - 1 - Very low no more than ten feet off the ground at 08:55
  • Holmebrook Valley Park: Swallow - 2 ; Song Thrush - 1 ; Great Crested Grebe - 4 - two adults, one carrying two chicks on its back ; Mute Swan - 6 - two adults, three cygnets and one first summer. The adult cob had an altercation with a dog - the swan won ; Mute Swan - 6 - Pair with 3 cygnets still. Also last years young still. ; Coot - 10+ - 3+ pairs with chicks round site ; Moorhen - 10+ - 2+ pairs with chicks round site
  • Kelham Island: Sand Martin - 7 - Feeding low over the water between the museum and the Riverside Pub. At least one masonry pipe being used there as a nest site plus two above the weir at Ball Bridge
  • Kimberworth Park: Swift - 5 - Low over roofs of Birk's Road @08:50
  • Manor Fields Park: Moorhen - 12 - 2 ad 2 large juv 8 new chicks.17:30. ; Mallard - 14 - 4 Fem 1 M 4 large juv 5 duckling. ; Kestrel - 1 ; House Martin - 3 ; Chiffchaff - 2
  • Norton Lees: Song Thrush - 1 - Singing away on neighbour’s aerial.
  • Poolsbrook Marsh: Great Spotted Woodpecker - 1 ; Reed Warbler - 5 - singing ; Willow Warbler - 3 - singing ; Chiffchaff - 2 - singing ; Blackcap - 2 - singing ; Whitethroat - 2 - singing ; Yellowhammer - 1 - male ; Yellowhammer - 1 - male ; Bullfinch - 2
