Chapeltown:
Swift - 25-30 - Screaming overhead most evening in a group
Dore village:
Swift - 14 - screaming party, highest count to date
Dukes Road:
Meadow Pipit - c78 - loose group disturbed from heather . ; Wren - 1 - singing ; Red Grouse - 14 - several family parties .
Fulwood:
Swift - 30 - single flock overhead screaming and feeding; my largest gathering this year ; House Martin - 8 - overhead with Swifts - presumed from Moorside breeding site: numbers well down this year

Blackbird - 2+ - adult pair with 3 fledged juvs, one killed on the ground by Magpie ; Magpie - 1 - killed juv Blackbird on the ground with parents in attendance unable to see it off ; Jackdaw - 12 - several family parties on roof and in trees early morning
