Bell Ground, Tankersley: Oystercatcher - 1 ; Lapwing - 12 - One sitting, 3 juvs

Broomhead Moor: Red Grouse - 4+ - At least two young - bred ; Merlin - 1

Derwent Dam: Kestrel - 4 - in nest box on west tower

Fairholmes: Pied Flycatcher - 0 - box empty apart from 1 unhatched egg. There were 4 chicks being fed yesterday which must have fledged overnight

Hillsborough: Mandarin - 1 - female on river, tried to land on main Langsett Road bridge

Kimberworth Park: Kestrel - 1 - male probably hunting over Grey Hill and Roughwood Road ; Swift - 20+ - active between Roughwood Road and Shearman Avenue at 21:10

R Don, Effingham St: Yellow-legged Gull - 1 - absolute brute, 3cy male and different to last week's bird. ; Kingfisher - 1 ; Canada Goose - 4 - two pair, one with 4 large goslings ; Yellow-legged Gull - 1 - 3cy/2nd summer and different to last week's bird, a real brute ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - 80+ - inc 2 colour ringed birds, green ringed N:Y96 ringed in Bowland in 2021, and JL53A ringed West Agder, Norway, in 2022.

Thrybergh CP: Common Tern - 1 - Fishing taking catch West and returning. ; Grey Wagtail - 1 - With food items. ; Pied Wagtail - 1 - Also with food items. ; Swift - 5 ; House Martin - 2 ; Goldfinch - 12 - c12 feeding along dam wall mostly juvenile. ; Reed Warbler - 2 - 1 singing in reeds at stream end of Southern arm, 1 singing in tiny patch of reeds along Southern arm path.

Orgreave Lakes: BLACK-NECKED GREBE - 1 - Adult summer on main lake this evening. ; Redshank - 6 - Inc fledged juv on island and we'll grown though downy juv to 2nd pair. ; Lapwing - 2 - 2 full grown juvs on island ; Oystercatcher - 5 - Inc 3 fledged juvs.
