Rotherham; Northfield/Primrose Hill: Herring Gull - c60 - inc 2 colour ringed adults Y:A81 & Y:J24 (ringed in York) ; Jackdaw - 9 - at recycling centre with other corvids ; Carrion Crow - 16 ; Rook - 1 ; Pied Wagtail - 1 ; Great Black-backed Gull - c40 - inc an adult with black darvic ring, but too distant to read

RVCP: Smew - 1 - Redhead still on Nethermoor Lake at 9.45 then flew across to small fishing lake. ; Tawny Owl - 2 ; Woodcock - 2 - In livestock field at dusk

Soughley Lane, Redmires: Curlew - 1 - calling from field near Soughley Lane (first one heard this year for me)

Stannington: Waxwing - 22 - still present at 08:30 ; Waxwing - 22 - in trees by the bus stop opposite 371 Stannington Road at 10:00 ; Waxwing - 24 - Confirmed max of 24 from 8am -10am, Stannington Road ; Waxwing - 24 - photo ; Waxwing - 24 - photo ; Waxwing - 24 - photo ; Blackcap - 1 - male fed briefly on berries on Stanwood Avenue ; Waxwing - 22 - in treetops on Stanwood Rd flycatching ; Waxwing - 22 - present 13:30-14:30 at least, occasionally visiting berried tree ; Waxwing - 22 - another photo of feeding contortions ; Waxwing - 22 - another photo

Damflask Res: Brambling - c40 - Feeding in beech trees on south side. ; Dipper - 1 - On west side on part reduced to a stream calling continuously.

Graves Park: Nuthatch - 2 (1 + 1) ; Ring-necked Parakeet - 1 - Heard in trees near cafe

Heeley City Farm: Ring-necked Parakeet - 2 - Flying over, calling.at 15:45

Holling Dale Plantation: Brambling - 4 ; Siskin - 1

Langsett Res: Black-headed Gull - 100+ - flocks flying along valley from East to West presumably to roost ; Red Grouse - 1 - perched in tree feeding off Hawthorn berries near bridge over Little Don (W of reservoir)

Langsett/Midhope: Mistle Thrush - 3+ - feeding in hawthorn trees near Cliff Wood along with Starlings, Redwings and Fieldfares ; Redwing - 3+ ; Fieldfare - 6+ ; Starling - 3+ ; Blackbird - 4+ ; Blue Tit - 2+

Longshaw: Mandarin - 11 ; Brambling - c15

Malin Bridge: Chiffchaff - 1 - in Norris rd garden again feeding in ivy hedge.

Mayfield Valley: Canada Goose - 42 - headed low E, no doubt Redmires birds

Middleton Moor: Wigeon - 2

Midhope: Bullfinch - 1+

Midhope Moor: Raven - 2 ; 319 - 2 ; Carrion Crow - 3+ ; Kestrel - 1+ ; Greylag Goose - 4 - flying over from east (possibly from fields by Midhope Res) ; Woodpigeon - approx 40 - flying, later seen feeding in oak trees near Shaw Brook ; Feral Pigeon - approx 15 - domestic pigeons from the gamekeepers barn by Thickwoods ; Red Grouse - 20+ - numerous, males and females

Midhope Res: Crossbill - at least 7 - Feeding on cones; seen from along Gill Royd Rd. ; Greylag Goose - at least 6 - In sheep pasture off Shaw Lane ; 320 - 20-30 - On reservoir ; Mallard - 30-40 - on reservoir
