Rother Valley CP: Smew - 1 - redhead on small pond beyond the nature reserve lake ar 12:15 ; 322 - 1 - Harris Hawk sitting on bank of nature reserve lake at 12:05 - subsequently flew south

Sharrow: Waxwing - 4+ - Among redwings on Cemetery Av ; Waxwing - 15 - 15 around 09.45 then twos and threes present

Shepherd*s Plantation: Woodpigeon - 10+ ; Long-tailed Tit - 5+ ; Brambling - 1+ - calls

West Nab area: Black-headed Gull - 14 ; Rook - 30+ - in field at swan height with gulls ; Golden Plover - 7 - in field opp west nab farm ; Kestrel - 1 ; Mistle Thrush - 1 - on power line Swan cottage ; Pheasant - 4 ; Goldfinch - 10+ - White Lea crossroads

Big Moor: Red Grouse - 6

Crookes Valley Park: Mute Swan - 2 - 2nd calendar years still present ; Song Thrush - 1 - Singing ; Black-headed Gull - 142 ; Peregrine - 1 - over. Appeared to be an adult ; Herring Gull - 4+ ; Mistle Thrush - 1 ; Goldfinch - 10 ; Siskin - 1 - over towards Ponderosa ; CASPIAN GULL - 1 - In at 09.28 and still being observed at 10.35. Structure and plumage convincing for female Caspian but very pale eyed and upperwing yet to be observed. ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - 2

Fox Hagg: 319 - 4 - soaring over

Kimberworth: Wren - 1 - Walking along garden fence picking up insects as it moved along. ; Coal Tit - 2 - Feeding on sunflower hearts. ; Robin - 1 - Feeding on sunflower hearts and frigtening off the goldfinch from the feeder. ; Bullfinch - 1 - Male for second day running after an absence of a few months.

Kiveton: Yellowhammer - 30+ - large flock in unploughed field, possibly well over 30.

Ponderosa: Mistle Thrush - 1

R Don, Parkgate: Goosander - 3 - 1 male + 2 female ; 320 - 2 - 1 male + 1 female

R Sheaf, Norton Hammer: Dipper - 2 - Singing and courtship display

Redmires Top Res: Crossbill - 5 - in roadside conifers. 3 female, 1juv female, 1 juv male ; Lapwing - c40
