Ibbotson*s Dam: Kingfisher - 1 - Male

Thrybergh CP: 325 - 2 - reported up to at least 09:30. Further details requested ; 325 - 2 - in sheepfield on left as you turn in to res, prob best viewed from drive or main road ; GREAT WHITE EGRET - 1 - flushed 2 Cattle Egrets towards Hooton Roberts at 12:10- Cattle Egrets returned to sheepfield later ; 325 - 2 - still present 1400 roosting in willows on east bank of res. ; 325 - 2 - Found by Graham Sharples, and present all day. Presumed adult and 1w, one with bright orange bill,other with dull bill colour, looking blue/grey/pale yellow, and with some brown marks in wing. ; 325 - 2 - flight shot, as owner entered field to pick up rubbish to prevent sheep eating it.

Upper Common, Scholes: Skylark - 40+ - feeding, occasionally moving in tight flock. ; Mistle Thrush - 2 - feeding

Bassingthorpe Spring: 319 - 1 - hunting within wood ; Kestrel - 1 - female hunting along hedge in adj field below mobile mast. ; Wren - 1 - at least 1 singing ; Dunnock - 1+ ; Robin - 1+ - singing ; Goldcrest - 1+ ; Long-tailed Tit - 1+ ; Great Tit - 1+

Blackburn Tip: Pink-footed Goose - 90+ - 90+ west at 09.10

Brightside: Peregrine - 1 - Perched on building near river don ; Common Buzzard - 2

Burngreave: Waxwing - 1 - 1w still on Lopham St this am, feeding in Rowan half way up

Cavendish Mill: Starling - 10000 - Possibly as many as 10000 tonight. Arriving from 15:30 until dark, some huge flocks but little murmuration as birds dropping straight into roos

Firsby Res: Moorhen - 2 ; 319 - 3 - Inc bird down hunting for worms. ; Kestrel - 1 - Hunting from telegraph pole on Arbour Lane. ; Tawny Owl - 1 - Resident Male perched at side of path. ; Barn Owl - 1 - Still present AM. ; Jay - 2 ; Fieldfare - 6+ ; Redwing - 15+ ; Song Thrush - 2 ; Pheasant - 6 ; Red-legged Partridge - 12 - On farmland. ; Skylark - 2 - Singing high over site. ; Meadow Pipit - 3 ; Yellowhammer - 6 - On barn roof. ; Bullfinch - 4 ; Treecreeper - 1

R Don, Rotherham Centre; adjacent Forge Island: Goosander - 1 - redhead, preening on bank @ 1610hrs

Ringinglow: Brambling - 2 - Hundreds of chaffinches only a couple of Brambling
