Thrybergh; Doncaster Road: Common Buzzard - 1 - low to SW @ 0702hrs ; Nuthatch - 1 - calling from mature trees, Chestnut Court

Ughill: Curlew - c132 - including 2 colour ringed birds, from separate ringing schemes in Wales, details to follow.

Ughill - Wet Shaw: Curlew - c80 - approx 60 feeding in rushy, sheep-grazed pasture plus another flock of about 20 flew in. ; Starling - c20 - feeding in pasture alongside Curlews ; Carrion Crow - 1 ; Black-headed Gull - 1 - feeding in pasture with Curlews

Ughill Moors: Skylark - 1 ; Red Grouse - 2 ; Merlin - 1 - fem/imm casing Skylark . Later seen circling over Bradfield Dale before dashing off through Hollingdale towards moors.

Broomhill: Stock Dove - 1 - Singing from chimney pots opposite library until chased off by Jackdaws ; Nuthatch - 1 - Calling in trees by library

Canklow Woods: Siskin - 1 - very scarce this winter ; Chiffchaff - 1 - singing ; Lesser Redpoll - 25 ; Lesser Redpoll - c 80 - flock increased to c 80 at 1500

Centenary Riverside: Chiffchaff - 2 - feeding along the river edge beneath the entrance bridge

Edge Mount: 320 - 2 - pair on shallow pool

Firsby Res: Moorhen - 1 ; Mallard - 9 - 4 Pairs plus single Male. ; Pied Wagtail - 1 - Cottage roof. ; Redwing - 10+ ; Great Spotted Woodpecker - 1 - Drumming in woodland near road. ; Goldcrest - 1

Keppels Field: Magpie - 10+ - in tree. ; Feral Pigeon - 8 - @ Column.

Kimberworth: Greenfinch - 2 - Male and female on sunflower hearts feeder. The birds have returned to the garden this week after being absent over the winter.
