Hollow Meadows: Oystercatcher - 1 - Flew flew south across the A57 and landed in the fields.

Middleton Moor: Reed Warbler - 1 - Singing ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - 85 ; Shelduck - 6 - Pair with 4 well grown young ; Yellow Wagtail - 1 - Male feeding around grazing sheep; my first in the White Peak this century

Orgreave Lakes: Redshank - 5 - Pair moved chicks off island and successfully fledged in July ; Little Egret - 1

Redmires conduit: Wren - 1 ; Lapwing - 3 ; Redstart - 1 ; Snipe - 1 ; Meadow Pipit - 10+ ; Jay - 1 ; Curlew - 3

Redmires Res: Little Ringed Plover - 1 - feeding on Top Res ; Common Sandpiper - 2 - ad with fledged young on Top Res ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - 8 ; Herring Gull - 4 ; Crossbill - 1 ; Common Buzzard - 1 ; Sedge Warbler - 2 - male sang briefly + fledged juv seen in bushes by Middle Res ; Oystercatcher - 2 ; Lapwing - 25 - c. Leash Fen: Grasshopper Warbler - 1 - reeling

Lodge Moor: Tree Sparrow - 1+ - Adult calling from rooftops on Lodge Moor Rd and presumed juvs calling from adjacent conifer ; Starling - 280 - Feeding flock in freshly-cut field on Lodge Moor Rd. Roughly 50:50 adults-juvs, coming and going in small parties from Lodge Moor. No pink ones!

Malin Bridge: Dunnock - 2 - feeding chick in back garden

Orgreave Lakes: Pochard - 32 ; Tufted Duck - 40 ; Wigeon - 1 - Drake ; Oystercatcher - 3 - Pair with approx 2 week old chick

R Don, Effingham St: Herring Gull - c15 - including 2cy with deformed bill

R Don, Newhall Rd: Hobby - 1 - seen with prey, presumably hunting Sand Martins, headed towards Meadowhall. ; Kingfisher - 1 ; Sand Martin - 20+ - of four drainage pipes, two had chicks (2 and 3) beng fed by adult. Third pipe was entered by an adult though no chicks visible.

R Don, Stevenson Rd: Canada Goose - 2 - the Effingham St pair, still with 2 goslings. Seen later below Hawke St footbridge.

R Sheaf, Heeley: Dipper - 1 - under the railway bridge on Little London Road
