  • Smallfield: Pink-footed Goose - 1 - In among a group of 20 Greylags.
  • Stubley Hollow: Green Woodpecker - 1 - First for 2 yrs ; Green Woodpecker - 1 - First for 2 yrs

  • Wadsley Common garden: Grey Wagtail - 1 - Uncommon here. ; Stock Dove - 8 ; Sparrowhawk - 1
  • Walkley Bank: Blackcap - 1 - singing in shrubs on Walkley Millennium Green
  • Wharncliffe Side: Brambling - 1 - Male feeding on sunflower hearts in observers garden

  • Brownhills Lane: Fieldfare - 2 - feeding in roadside fields
  • Catcliffe: Kestrel - 1 - Hunting over Parkway 12.50
  • Endcliffe Park: Black-headed Gull - 15+ - Top pond at Endcliffe Park. mixture of plumages.
  • Fulwood garden: Brambling - 2 - Pair at feeders ; Siskin - 2 - Pair at feeders ; Bullfinch - 2 - Pair at feeders
  • Ladybower Res, North arm: Oystercatcher - 1 - reported from Bridge End car park
  • Millhouses: Blackcap - 1 - Male in the observer’s garden.
  • Orgreave Lakes: Jack Snipe - 1 - Flushed from side of path behind small lake. ; Shoveler - 3 - 2 drakes and 1 duck. First record this year. ; Ringed Plover - 1 - South
  • Porter Brook: Dipper - 2 - Pair back on territory after therir nest site was inundated by flood water last week. ; Goosander - 2 - Pair on Wire Mill Dam m + f ; Mandarin - 10 ; Song Thrush - 3 - 3 singing males in the 4 regular territories between Shepherd Wheel and Wire Mill Dam
  • Redmires conduit: Golden Plover - 12 - in horse fields with c80 lapwings
  • Redmires Middle Res: Herring Gull - 32 - blogging mid-morning ; Sparrowhawk - 1 - loitering around feeders
  • Silverwood Lagoon: Great Crested Grebe - 1 ; Shoveler - 6 - 4 males
  • Thorpe Hesley: Lapwing - 59 - 51 & 8 in 2 fields
  • Wadsley Common garden: Blackcap - 1 - Male on feeders-first of the year, presumably an overwintering bird. ; Stock Dove - 6 ; Goldfinch - 15+
  • Walkley garden: Stock Dove - 2 - Pair under bird feeders, multiple visits.
  • Wharncliffe Chase: Red Kite - 1 - In kennels/res area 08:30-08:40. Settled briefly in trees before drifting towards southern end of Chase. ; Red Kite - 1 - Another pic
