  • Cinder Hills: Coal Tit - 1 - singing ; Goldfinch - 20+ - flock feeding on Alders
  • Coombs Dale: Fieldfare - c20 ; Redwing - c11 ; Long-tailed Tit - 11 ; 319 - 1 ; Goldfinch - 4
  • Edge Mount: Brambling - ~50 - A few chaffinch in among.
  • Middle Common: Kestrel - 1 - female, preening on telegraph pole

  • Rawmarsh; High Street: Mistle Thrush - 1 - on favoured perch on top of spire
  • Rawmarsh; Rockcliffe Road: Goldfinch - c15 - flock, visiting gardens
  • Rivelin Valley: Stock Dove - 2 - foraging in arable field off Coppice Lane ; Meadow Pipit - 12 - foraging in horse pasture near Parkside Farm ; Blackcap - 2 - both males at feeders in our garden - the first in winter here for many years
  • Roundwood Golf course: Redwing - 6+ ; Mistle Thrush - 1 - calling persistently ; Fieldfare - 3 ; Siskin - 4 ; Bullfinch - 1
  • Thorpe Hesley: Blackbird - c15 ; Redwing - 10+ ; Fieldfare - c20 ; Mistle Thrush - 2 ; Kestrel - 1 ; Greenfinch - c15 - Eating sunflower seeds

  • Greasbrough Dam,Wentworth: Great Crested Grebe - 4 ; Mute Swan - 1 - Adult(Y7??) ; Pink-footed Goose - 1 - feeding at S edge of lake, close to Mallards, then into adjacent field, E end of lake ; Mallard - 40+ ; Moorhen - 19 ; Coot - 6 ; Black-headed Gull - 100+ - including 80+ on water with 40+ in adjacent field to S
  • Meadowhall: Mistle Thrush - 2 - NW over main car park
  • Morley Plantation(W): Goldcrest - 1+ ; Long-tailed Tit - 10+ ; Nuthatch - 2 - at least 2 feeding on seeds/crumbs
  • Morley Pond: Great Crested Grebe - 2 ; Mute Swan - 1 - Adult ; Mallard - 10+ ; Tufted Duck - 6 ; Moorhen - 1 ; Black-headed Gull - 70+ - some on water others over field E of Trowles Wood
  • Orgreave Lakes: Great Black-backed Gull - 11 - All gulls roosted to at least 1630hrs ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - 11 - Including this dark headed bird. ; CASPIAN GULL - 2 - 2x 1st winters ; Yellow-legged Gull - 1 - Adult ; Common Gull - 4 - 3 adults and 1 1st year. ; Black-headed Gull - c1100 - One bird in full summer plumage. ; Lapwing - 34
  • Wentworth Park, E of Roman Ridge: Kestrel - 1 - male ; Little Owl - 1 - possibly 2? calling near old Ash trees ; Jackdaw - 7+

  • Attercliffe: Great Black-backed Gull - 15 ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - 2 - Warren Street ; Herring Gull - c120 ; Black-headed Gull - c150
  • Brownhills Lane: Pink-footed Goose - 1 - with Greylags still ; Greylag Goose - 120 - at least ; Canada Goose - 55
  • Catcliffe Flash: Shoveler - 9
  • Longshaw: Brambling - 2 - At least two in mixed tit & finch flock in roadside trees near the Grouse Inn
  • Loxley Chase: Stonechat - 1 ; Meadow Pipit - 30 - flock flying around
  • Loxley Common: Fieldfare - 150+ - lots feeding on hawthorns west of golf course. At least 150 counted in the air at one time
  • Morehall Res: Whooper Swan - 6 - Flock of 6 flying east along Ewden valley.
  • Norfolk Park: Blackcap - 1 - 1 male; first time for Blackcap here
  • Orgreave Lakes: Meadow Pipit - 12
