Longshaw: Meadow Pipit - 1

Meersbrook: 319 - 1 - flying along route of A61 being very closely followed by a Carrion Crow, some aerial twisting about by the Buzzard, lost sight of them over Broadfield Rd.

Midhope Res: Curlew - 32 - Concentrated group feeding in fields with some flying to/from Low Moor. ; Swallow - 3 ; Common Sandpiper - 2 ; Meadow Pipit - c60 - Single group along Res wall, flushed by Sparrowhawk. Small groups left south, some displayed/sang. ; Oystercatcher - 2 ; Greylag Goose - 65+ ; Tufted Duck - 3 - 2 male / female, assumed courtship with some calling. ; Pied Wagtail - 3 ; Grey Heron - 1 ; Sparrowhawk - 1 ; Song Thrush - 3 - Singing ; Siskin - 1 - Flew calling towards Langsett. ; Willow Warbler - 3 - Singing ; Chiffchaff - 1 ; Lapwing - 3 ; Moorhen - 1 ; Grey Wagtail - 1 ; Linnet - 6 ; Swallow - 4 ; Greenfinch - 1 ; Kestrel - 1 ; 319 - 1

Moss Valley: Willow Warbler - 2 - 1 singing Lumb Wood, 1 singing Robinbrook Lane ; Common Buzzard - 1 ; Sparrowhawk - 1 - Female ; Yellow Wagtail - 1 - Flew N over Carter Hall Lane

Orgreave Lakes: Whinchat - 1 - Male along track to houses. ; Wheatear - 5 - Along track to houses. ; Common Sandpiper - 6 ; Arctic Tern - 1 - Still present early evening.

Padley Gorge: Pied Flycatcher - 3 - M&F seen together +1 solitary M further down the gorge ; Nuthatch - 4 ; Wren - 2 ; Blue Tit - 1

Burbage Valley: Cuckoo - 1 - male ranging from Over Owler Tor to Carl Walk Fort. Intermittent song. ; Woodpigeon - 15+ - further light passage north up the valley in parties of 3 & 4 ; Willow Warbler - 8+ - small increase in number on last week ; Kestrel - 2 - pair in dispute with Carrion Crows ; Reed Bunting - 2 - 2 males ; Stonechat - 2 - 2 singing males south end ; Snipe - 1 - chipping, south end, usual area ; Wren - 7+ - mostly singing males but inc one pair nest building ; Meadow Pipit - 6 ; Song Thrush - 1 - singing, plantation again ; Blackbird - 1 - male arrived from Longshaw in plantation, took to the south rocks for singing ; Great Tit - 1 - southern end copse ; Robin - 1 - southern end copse ; Nuthatch - 1 - across Hathersage Rd on edge of Longshaw Estate ; Great Spotted Woodpecker - 1 - drumming across Hathersage Rd on edge of Longshaw Estate
