  • Aldwarke: Cormorant - 12 - on pylons @ 1130hrs
  • Dore; Causeway Head Road: Waxwing - 52+ - at least 52, possibly up to 60 by Co-op Travel @ 0800hrs
  • Firsby Res: 320 - 2 - In front of reed bed large Res. ; 319 - 1 - Perched above path far end of small Res. ; Sparrowhawk - 1 - Caught Blackbird in hedge bottom but it escaped. ; Song Thrush - 1 - Singing @ dawn.
  • Fulwood garden: Brambling - 5 - visiting feeders ; Bullfinch - 2 - pair at feeders ; 319 - 1 - over E ; Sparrowhawk - 1 - female circling ; Siskin - 1 - male at feeders and singing from treetops ; Redwing - 1 - feeding in leaf litter ; Tawny Owl - 2 - calling against each other from same tree at dusk

  • Pit-house West: BITTERN - 1 - climbed up reeds for 5 mins at 17:20 before dropping back down, Bittern Pool. ; Woodcock - 2 - over A57 end late dusk ; Cetti's Warbler - 1 - calling only, Bittern Pool ; Willow Tit - 2 - Chinese Bridge ; Green Woodpecker - 1 - yaffling ; Water Rail - 3+ - vocal and very flighty at dusk

  • Bannerdale Centre/Abbeydale Grange: Waxwing - 1 ; Ring-necked Parakeet - 4 ; Redwing - c.80 ; Redwing - c.80 ; Redwing - c.80 ; Redwing - c.80 ; Stock Dove - 10 - including song, display, and territorial dispute ; Greenfinch - 9 ; Great Spotted Woodpecker - 1 - female ; Sparrowhawk - 1 - female
  • Beauchief Abbey Ponds: 320 - 2 - pair heard
  • Burngreave: Waxwing - 186 - In trees on the green, left towards town at 09:20 ; Waxwing - 150+ - On the green. Some even flycatching in the sun at 13:00.
  • Canklow Woods: Lesser Redpoll - 12 ; Common Buzzard - 1
  • Dore: Waxwing - 26 - stripping berry bush just by Coop Travel, Causeway Head Rd at 13:10
  • Firsby Res: Stock Dove - c25 - In one flock feeding on newly sown field. ; Rook - 300+ - Same field as Stock Doves. ; Fieldfare - 20 ; Goldcrest - 5 ; Bullfinch - c12 ; Reed Bunting - 1 - Male.
  • Hillsborough: Grey Wagtail - 2 - Pair observed feeding in car park at rear Shakey pub, birds probably from the weir area.
  • Onesmoor: Golden Plover - c300 - circling over rape field
  • Orgreave Lakes: BEAN GOOSE (Tundra/Taiga) - 1 - still present with Greylags 9:15am.
  • Peat Pits: Starling - c400 - in surrounding fields.
