  • Howden Res: PARROT CROSSBILL - 2+ - at least two Parrot Crossbills still in with a flock of 13 birds at the usual spot at Howden Resr this morning ; Crossbill - 20+ - mobile flocks over 7km track and above Kings Tree ; Raven - 8 - groups of 5 ad 3 ; Common Buzzard - 3 ; Goosander - 2 - pair ; PARROT CROSSBILL - 10 - feeding in pines by road at start of 7km track at 14:20

  • Orgreave Lakes: Scaup - 1 ; Pink-footed Goose - 105 - West at 09:05 ; Reed Bunting - 40+ - Minimum of 40 west side of small lake. ; Shelduck - 1 - In at 09:30 ; Pink-footed Goose - 1 - in with Greylags. ; Raven - 2 - flew south-east @ 15.50 ; CASPIAN GULL - 1 - 1st W,in pre-roost,left north @16.15,looked like Stevenson Road bird. ; Goldeneye - 10 - 4 males

  • Attercliffe: Pink-footed Goose - c150 - flew south west @ 10.05
  • Ecclesall: Goldcrest - 1 - on silver birch in observer's garden
  • Endcliffe Park: Kingfisher - 1 - upper lake at 9:40 ; Kingfisher - 1 - lower lake at 11:25
  • Firsby Res: Little Owl - 1 - Flew from Holly bush in Sheep paddock. ; Mistle Thrush - 3 - Sat on roof of converted barn. ; Song Thrush - 1 ; Blackbird - 10+ ; Chaffinch - 1 - Female. ; Bullfinch - 2 ; Long-tailed Tit - 5+ ; Wren - 5 ; Robin - 4
  • Forge Dam: Pink-footed Goose - 100+ - 100~200 heading west at 10:55
  • Harley: Pink-footed Goose - 250 - c250 flew west at 10:55
  • Heeley City Farm: Coal Tit - 2 - only 3rd/4th record for this inner city site ; Pink-footed Goose - 400+ - flew SW at c10:30 ; Pink-footed Goose - 58+ - a further skein flew SW at 11:36 & another skein heard only going south west in the dark at 17:40
  • Hillsborough: Grey Wagtail - 1 - Hillsborough Corner ; Starling - 1+ - small roost audible on high street light at Hillsborough Corner.
  • Hillsborough Park: Canada Goose - 50 - counts have been very stable at this site over the winter ; Greylag Goose - 1 - #NAME? ; 324 - 1 - Canada x Barnacle Goose (still paired with Greylag) ; Tufted Duck - 3 - males
  • Ibbotson Wheel Dam: Kingfisher - 1 - at 9:50
  • Kiveton Community Woodland: Pink-footed Goose - 320+ - Two groups of 160+ birds in each group, West towards Rother Valley Country Park, photo of second group ; Barn Owl - 2 - 2 birds still present and hunting on old pit top
  • Nether Haugh: Grey Partridge - 5 - flew over road at 15.00
