  • Manor Fields Park: Whitethroat - 8 - 1pair with 4 new fledged young. 2 M singing. ; Chiffchaff - 3 ; Linnet - 6+ - inc 1 new fledged young bird. ; Mallard - 18 - 5 F,3 M,4 well grown young+ 6 duckling. ; Moorhen - 7+ - 2ad 2well grown juv 3+new chicks on top pond 19:45. ; Swift - 6

  • Padley Gorge: Pied Flycatcher - 7 - 3 pairs visiting nest boxes with food ; Wood Warbler - 1 - carrying food to probable nest ; Mistle Thrush - 1 - chased by magpie
  • R Derwent, Chatsworth: Oystercatcher - 2 adults ; Mandarin - Female with 7 young

  • Keppels Field: Swallow - 1 ; Whitethroat - 1 - sing ; Willow Warbler - 1 - sing ; Blue Tit - 1+ - juvs ; Dunnock - 1 - sing ; Yellowhammer - 1 - singing and calling from hedge
  • Ladybower Res: Hobby - 1
  • Loxley Valley: Barn Owl - 2 - hunting in fields at 10.15pm
  • R Don, Effingham St: Yellow-legged Gull - 1 - 3s/4cy bird.
  • R Don, Rotherham Centre; Chantry Bridge: Sand Martin - 6+prs - feeding young in at least 6 holes beneath Bridge Inn ; Pied Wagtail - 1+ - female feeding 3 fledged juvs
  • R.Don, Stevenson Rd to Newhall Rd: Sand Martin - 20 - 5 holes occupied both sides of River
  • Rivelin Valley: Barn Owl - 1 - Possibly two birds hunting over fields at 2102hrs ; Swift - 4 ; Lapwing - 1
  • Stanage Edge, below: Willow Warbler - 4 - 4 singing males ; Garden Warbler - 1 - Singing male Hollin Bank Car Park ; Mistle Thrush - 3 - foraging for worms, rattle calls, in fields above North Lees Hall ; Swallow - 5 - Feeding above North Lees Hall ; Kestrel - 1 - Female. Above North Lees Hall. Landed on rocks towards Cattis side
