Greystones garden: Coal Tit - 1 - juvenile ; Woodpigeon - 2 - 1 juvenile ; Blackbird - 3 - 1 juvenile fed by adult male ; Bullfinch - 2 - Male & female

Moorland Fringe: Nightjar - 14 - Churring from 8 sites.

Rivelin Filters: Red Kite - 2 - over woods at back of cottages

Rotherham Centre: Blackcap - 2 - 1 singing near Iccles Lock, 1 singing near NYS 13.00 ; Chaffinch - 1 - Singing near Iccles Lock

Dore: Starling - 18 - It is literally years since we had a double-figure count in our garden. 12 adults, 6 juvs.

Greasbrough Dam,Wentworth: Great Crested Grebe - 12 - 5 adult and 7 juvs, 3- 4 family parties ; Mallard - 20+ - several family parties ; Grey Heron - 1 ; Coot - 10+ - 3 adult,7 juvs. 2-3 family parties ; Moorhen - 1 - juv ; Black-headed Gull - 6 ; Swift - 1 - low over water ; Whitethroat - 2 - singing

Howden Dam: Kestrel - 1 - adult feeding brood of 4 nearly full grown juvs at usual nest site on western turret at Howden Dam wall.

Morley Pond: Great Crested Grebe - 4 - 2 adult, 1 carrying at least 2 juvs ; Grey Heron - 2+ ; Mallard - 20+ - several family parties ; Tufted Duck - 1 - male ; Coot - 1 ; Kingfisher - 1 - flew on to Dog Kennel ; Swallow - 1+ ; Blackcap - 1 - singing

Abbeydale: Wood Duck - 1 - Visiting an Abbeydale Road South Garden for the past few days.

Barbrook Plantation: Redstart - 1+ - a male feeding fledged young ; Wren - 6+ - Family group of 6+

Cutthorpe: Red Kite - 5 - per DOS - seen together (county record)

Fulwood Head Rd: Red Kite - 1 - Was disturbed from field and flew up and around overhead until moved away

Green Moor: Tawny Owl - 1

Handsworth: Curlew - 4 - Flew west over garden calling, 07:00

Holdworth: Little Owl - 1 - sat on wires ; 319 - 1 - sat on wall

Jaunty Park: Blackcap - 4+ - adult pair feeding 2+ fledged young. 07:40. ; Chiffchaff - 1 ; Starling - 40+ - mostly young birds. ; House Sparrow - 30+ - adults and fledged young in one group of at least 30. ; Mistle Thrush - 2 - feeding on playing fields 07:45

Manor Oaks: Common Buzzard - 1 - Low over Manor Lane mobbed by corvids.

Moorland fringe: Nightjar - 11 - Churring birds at 7 sites.

R Don, Effingham St: Lesser Black-backed Gull - c230 - 2cy-adults ; Herring Gull - 13 ; Black-headed Gull - c30 - inc a fresh juvenile.

R Don, Rotherham Centre: Sand Martin - present - birds entering 2-3 gaps between dressed stonework of wall on SE bank of river, c150m from main colony

Ramsley Res: Whinchat - 2+ - 2 adults feeding 2+ fledged young ; Mallard - 1+ - female with 6 small young ; Lapwing - 14 - moving east
