Attercliffe: Peregrine - 3 - Adult pair and juv on Bernard Rd incinerator building in rain.

Barbrook Pools: 320 - 3 ; Tufted Duck - 2 - Two half-grown young. ; Snipe - 1 ; Swallow - 60+ - feeding over the whole area between the Barbrook Cottage Road/ A621 junction and the Pools.

Barlow Common: Yellowhammer - 1 ; Swallow - 2 ; Kestrel - 1

Bramley: Sparrowhawk - 2 - Pair in air together calling.

Canklow Woods: Grasshopper Warbler - 1 - reeling at 0740

Derwent Dam: 319 - 2 ; Grey Heron - 1

Firsby Res: Grey Heron - 1 - Fishing in shallows if rapidly shrinking main Res. ; Common Sandpiper - 1 - Still present feeding at waters edge. ; Swallow - 2 - Drinking from water. ; House Martin - 7+ - Over site. ; Jay - 1 - Feeding at road side.

Peat Pits: Mistle Thrush - 18 - mobbing little owl sat on wires . ; Little Owl - 2 - 1 on wires , 1 on stone wall . ; Raven - 2 - calling whilst heading east .

R Don, Effingham St: Yellow-legged Gull - 5 - An ad/near ad, a 3cy, a new 2cy and 2 juvs. ; Common Sandpiper - 1 - landed on log by weir

Ravenfield: Tawny Owl - 2 - 2 Owlets sat at side of road in dead tree calling for food.

Redmires Top Res: Crossbill - 2 - In conifers at edge of road. One certain male

RVCP, Main Lake: Little Egret - 2 - still on island mid morning

Thrybergh CP: Great Crested Grebe - 6 - inc.pr 3y ; Mute Swan - 42 - inc.3y-2y ; Tufted Duck - 35 ; 319 - 1 - past nw 1500 ; Sparrowhawk - 1 - f past e 1350 ; Kestrel - 4 - fam call.from t/tops ; Common Tern - 2 - ad

Totley Bents: Cuckoo - 1 - Juv over Moss Road

Tyzack*s Dam: Swallow - 12+ - Including two fledged broods.

Upper Barbrook: Whinchat - 6+ - Family party

Abbeydale: Swift - 40+ - A flock flew over Abbeydale Golf Club

Attercliffe: Yellow-legged Gull - 4+ - 3 juvs (2 Norfolk Bridge, 1 Efffingham St), and an adult Norfolk Bridge. ; Black-headed Gull - 200++ - Large Gull flocks feeding on flying ants over large area of the Lower Don. ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - c140 - including 2 German yellow colour ringed birds (present several weeks), and a 3cy ringed near Stavanger Norway, and last seen in Attercliffe in July 2017.

Barlow Common: Yellowhammer - 1 ; Linnet - 4+ ; Swallow - 06-Aug ; Swift - 2 ; Kestrel - 01-Feb

Brinsworth: Black-headed Gull - 100+ - Blackheaded + other gull species over Barrett estate and Howarth estate, presumably feeding on flying ants ? 16.10.

Canklow Woods: Grasshopper Warbler - 1 - reeling 0730

Dog Kennel Pond: Great Crested Grebe - 4+ - At least 1 family with 2 juvs ; Grey Heron - 1 ; Mallard - 40+ ; Kingfisher - 1+ - Possibly adult with juvs

Greystones: Swift - 4 - Greystones Rd

Kimberworth: Wren - 4 - 3 juveniles successfully fledged from the nest accompanied by parent.

Morley Pond: Great Crested Grebe - 4 - 1pr + 2 juvs ; Mallard - 1+ ; Moorhen - 1+ ; Lapwing - 20+ - In adj field ; Black-headed Gull - 30+ - Adults and juvs in field nr Lapwings ; Swift - 1+
