  • Orgreave Lakes: Greenshank - 1 - On large lake side of causeway then flew south at 13.11 ; Red-crested Pochard - 1 - Eclipse drake still present on/by south side of island at 14.30 ; Red-crested Pochard - 2 - Eclipse males on island early morning onwards

  • Thrybergh CP: Shoveler - 6 - eclipse birds ; Red-crested Pochard - 4 - 3m,1f ; Spotted Flycatcher - 1 ; Hobby - 1
  • Wadsley Common garden: Osprey - 1 - Low over garden, just skirting treetops heading west at 15:15
  • Waverley: Grey Partridge - 6
  • Waverley Estate: Hobby - 3 - up for 2 mins with a large flock of mainly Bĺack Headed Gulls feeding on insect hatch. ; Mistle Thrush - 28
  • Woodhouse Washlands: Little Egret - 1 ; Kingfisher - 1 ; Grey Wagtail - 1 ; Cormorant - 4 - Heading South ; Reed Bunting - 1

Friday 31st August 2018

  • Aldwarke: Raven - 2 - SW calling @ 0615hrs, then W, settling on telecoms mast in Parkgate, attracting curious Starlings. One still present @ 0630hrs. Not relocated.
  • Aldwarke; Liberty Steel: Peregrine - 1 - adult sat on chimney
  • Birley Edge: Common Buzzard - 1 - Flying low over fields and 'mewing' before heading to Great Hollins Wood
  • Bramley: Swift - 2 - Screaming low over Flanderwell Avenue at 16.00.
  • Brightside: 319 - 1 - over
  • Brinsworth: 319 - 1 - Over Phoenix sports club 11.18
  • Firsby Res: Mallard - 1 ; Moorhen - 5 ; 319 - 1 - Mobbed by C Crow. ; Black-headed Gull - 2
