Ravenfield: Sparrowhawk - 1 - Female

Redmires Bottom Res: 321 - 1

Redmires Middle Res: Golden Plover - c70 - on north shore with c50 Lapwings.

Redmires Plantation: Fieldfare - 4/500 - many separate flocks moving west

Redmires Top Res: Chaffinch - c40 - distinct movement west.

Rivelin Valley: 319 - 4 - Circling over Tofts Lane

RVCP, Main Lake: Little Egret - 1 - Flew south

RVCP, Northern Lake: Ring-necked Parakeet - 1 - Flew over and dropped into riverside trees.

Ulley CP: Mandarin - 1 - male on dam ; Willow Tit - 1 - in Morthen Arm

Walkley garden: Goldcrest - 1 - on monkey puzzle tree with large flock of mixed tits. ; Coal Tit - 2 - Pair collecting seeds from feeder,

Crookes Valley Park: Blackbird - 22 - Moving between trees in small parties - migrants grounded in fog ; Song Thrush - 2 - Flying between trees with Blackbirds - migrants ; Redwing - 3 - With Blackbirds and Song Thrushes ; Nuthatch - 2

Forge Dam: Kingfisher - 1 - caught & ate 2 fish ; Grey Heron - 1 - Juvenile ; Mandarin - 3 - 2 males 1 female ; Grey Wagtail - 1

Kimberworth: Greenfinch - 1 - 1 juvenile with goldfinches on sunflower hearts feeder. Now visits most days. ; Grey Heron - 1 - Flew over house roof near Bradgate Park. ; Blackbird - 1 - Having a bath in the birdbath in torrential rain. ; Goldfinch - 13 - Highest number of goldfinches observed at any one time.

Wortley: 319 - 1 - Feeding for worms in field at 4.30pm. Seen several times like this recently

Attercliffe: Peregrine - 2 - adult pair on Bernard Rd incinerator building

Crowhole: 319 - 02-Mar - two together, then one later on ; Kestrel - 1 - confiding and showing very well by the brook ; Mistle Thrush - 2 ; Redwing - 1 ; Pied Wagtail - 1 ; Goldfinch - 2

My 1st for site. ; Water Rail - 2 - Very vocal birds at the bottom end of the lake in reeds. ; Tufted Duck - 1 - Female ; Mandarin - 1 - Female ; Mallard - 50 ; Coot - 4 ; Moorhen - 9 ; Kingfisher - 2 - Calling on river ; Great Crested Grebe - 2 ; Herring Gull - 1 ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - 5 ; Black-headed Gull - 69 ; Mute Swan - 5 - 1 Cygnet has disappeared.
