  • Aldwarke; Liberty Steel: Raven - 2 - single on roof, then 2 SW @ 0745hrs, tumbling & rolling; 1 returned NE calling @ 0800hrs; singles SW/W @ 0815 & 0817hrs, dropped into Parkgate. Probably just 2 involved. ; Mute Swan - 10 - 7 SW @ 0827 & 3 SW @ 0858hrs ; Carrion Crow - 14 - single flock ; Cormorant - 21 - single flock, N @ 0827hrs, disappearing into distance. Presumed same flock of 21 S/SE @ 0858hrs
  • Barlow Common: Lapwing - 5+ ; Yellowhammer - 04-May ; Stock Dove - 2 ; Grey Heron - 1 ; Fieldfare - 1 ; Mistle Thrush - 3 ; Long-tailed Tit - 6 ; Goldfinch - 2 ; Greenfinch - 1
  • Bolehill Flash: Yellowhammer - 15 - in hawthorns near Flatts Farm late afternoon, apparent pre-roost gathering ; Tree Sparrow - 2 - in hawthorns near Flatts Farm
  • Broomhead Res: Goosander - 3 - males ; Tufted Duck - c10 - males and females ; Mallard - 20 - 30 ; Cormorant - 3 ; Blue Tit - c5 ; Goldcrest - 1+ ; Coal Tit - c2 ; Great Tit - c2 ; Blackbird - 2+ ; Mandarin - 21 - sat on ice ; Brambling - 40+ - several mobile flocks ; Black-headed Gull - c500 - pre roost, left W due to shooting in valley. ; Common Gull - 3 ; Herring Gull - 2
  • Catcliffe Flash: Common Gull - 1 - adult on ice with BHGs ; 320 - 25 - on ice - lake 90% frozen
  • Crosspool: Brambling - 1 - Single male in garden
  • Damflask Res: Black-headed Gull - 70+ ; Common Gull - 2 ; Cormorant - 2 ; Mandarin - 6 - M&F ; Greylag Goose - 35+ ; Treecreeper - 1 ; Nuthatch - 1 ; Pied Wagtail - 2
  • Dog Kennel Pond: Mute Swan - 6 - 4 Adult ; Black-headed Gull - c30 ; Herring Gull - 1 - juv ; Kingfisher - 1 ; Blue Tit - 4+ - 2 sing ; Long-tailed Tit - 1+ ; Nuthatch - 1
  • Ecclesall: Brambling - 1 - Ansell Road garden ; Blackcap - 1 - Male on feeders eating suet pellets and sunflower seeds. Button Hill
  • Ecclesall Woods: Raven - 1 - Heading west, tumbling and calling then turned south at Limb valley.
  • Firsby Res: 320 - 1 - Male flew from very small ice free area. ; Black-headed Gull - 2 - Over. ; Kestrel - 1 - On wires. ; Fieldfare - 3 - Feeding on fallen apples. ; Tree Sparrow - 1 - On cottage bird table. ; Lesser Redpoll - 2+ ; Bullfinch - 3+ ; Goldfinch - 5+ ; Woodcock - 1 - from side of path.

  • Kiveton Community Woodland: Little Egret - 1 - Still being seen anywhere from Kiveton Fisheries to the stream north end of site.

  • Manor Fields Park: Redwing - 26 ; Fieldfare - 4 ; Mistle Thrush - 2 ; Song Thrush - 3 ; Greenfinch - 11 ; Goldfinch - 20+ ; Chaffinch - 7 ; Bullfinch - 2 ; Reed Bunting - 1 ; Sparrowhawk - 1 - Hunting near mixed finch flock. ; Common Buzzard - 1 - Circled over site 14:15-14:19 ; Carrion Crow - 6+ - Seeing off C Buzzard ; Water Rail - 1 - Ran across frozen pond into reedbed 14:45 ; Mallard - 11 ; Moorhen - 5 ; Wren - 5
