  • Wadsley Common: Redstart - 1 - Juvenile feeding on bridle path
  • Worrall: Red Kite - 1 - Flying over fields next to Kirk Edge Road near Bradfield School.

  • Burncross, Chapeltown: Swift - 5+ - Visiting traditional breeding site under waves of house at entrance to Burncross cemetery ; Goldfinch - 10 - Post-breeding group including juvs
  • Cowell Flat: Stonechat - 3 - ad male and 2 juvs
  • Dore: Swift - 1 - entering nest site on Chatsworth road
  • Ecclesfield,High Street.: Swift - 16 - Group screaming above bottom of Wordsworth Avenue.
  • Linacre Res: Green Woodpecker - 2 - 2 fledged juvs
  • Orgreave Lakes: Mediterranean Gull - 1 - moulting adult mid-morning ; Yellow-legged Gull - 1 - adult, then flew flew towards Woodhouse Mill with Med Gull ; Mediterranean Gull - 1 - Moulting adult on tip then south ; Yellow-legged Gull - 1 - Adult on tip ; Kestrel - 3 - Adult with 2 juvs on tip ; Common Sandpiper - 2 ; Dunlin - 1
  • R Don, Effingham St: Mediterranean Gull - 1 - first summer bird on Wards roof late morning ; Yellow-legged Gull - 1 - second summer ; Black-headed Gull - c200 - inc metal ringed bird ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - c30 - inc leucistic bird (third summer?), and a new orange ringed bird ; Kingfisher - 1

  • Bole Hill Rec: Swift - c30 - gathering overhead at sunset
  • Fulwood: Ring-necked Parakeet - 1 - In observer’s garden early morning ; Sparrowhawk - 1 - Young male mobbed by Swallows over observer’s garden
  • Moorland Fringe: Nightjar - 8 - 7 churring males at 4 sites.
  • Parkwood Springs: Kestrel - 4 - Ski village - family (2 adults, 2 juveniles) out hunting
  • R Don, Effingham St: Canada Goose - 17 - 6 ads, 11 juvs, one with a bad case of 'angel wing'.
  • Rawmarsh: Raven - 2 - E/SE @ 0758hrs ; Sparrowhawk - 1 - female, W @ 1238hrs
  • Rawmarsh; Rockcliffe Road: Song Thrush - 1 - singing

  • Firsby Res: Mallard - 7 - Adult F with 6 well grown ducklings. ; Grey Heron - 1 ; Grey Wagtail - 2 - Fledged Juvs on sluice. ; 319 - 1 - Mobbed in woodland by Mistle Thrushes and BB. ; Nuthatch - 1 - Calling from tree tops in woodland. First record for some time. ; Song Thrush - 1 - Singing Male. ; Swift - 3 - Over early morning. ; Blackcap - 1 ; Chiffchaff - 1
