  • Keppels Field: Pheasant - 1 ; Dunnock - 1+ - calls ; Blackbird - 2+ ; Redwing - 4+ ; Long-tailed Tit - 1+ ; Starling - 10+ - @ Column with 10 Feral Pigeon. ; Jay - 1 ; Carrion Crow - 1+ ; Greenfinch - 2 ; Goldfinch - 1+
  • Kimberworth Park: Cormorant - 2 - SE @ 10:00 over Town Lane. ; 319 - 3 - Together circling above Shepherd's Plantation and toward Roughwood School for 10 mins +.
  • Limb Valley: Fieldfare - 5+ - small group flitting around tree tops on Bole Hill
  • Malin Bridge: Pink-footed Goose - c20 - Over calling, heading S then turned W.
  • Meersbrook: Pink-footed Goose - 1+ - substantial flock heard over at c.18.20
  • Midhope Res: 327 - 2+ ; Goldcrest - 5+ - inc 3 feeding with tit group ; Long-tailed Tit - 9 ; Bullfinch - 1 ; Woodpigeon - 300+ - Groups moving mainly east
  • R Don, Stevenson Rd: Common Buzzard - 3 - one mobbed by Herring Gull, Carrion Crow and Sparrowhawk. ; Yellow-legged Gull - 2 - adult and 3cy ; Herring Gull - c40 ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - c15 ; Great Black-backed Gull - 5
  • Rivelin Valley: Dipper - 1 ; Grey Wagtail - 2
  • Silverwood Lagoon: Pochard - 2 - males
  • Ulley CP: Whooper Swan - 1
  • Upper Midhope: Fieldfare - 100+ - 8am Part of a large thrush contingent in area. ; Redwing - 40+ ; Mistle Thrush - 10+ ; Song Thrush - 5+ - Flighty ; Blackbird - 10+ ; Jay - 5+ - 3 arrived from south ; Brambling - 2+ - At least two within a group of 22 finches flying west towards Langsett ; Starling - 200+ - Groups of 30-40 flying west and north, most likely local movements.
  • Wharncliffe Side: Whooper Swan - 2+ - At least 2 over village calling early morning
  • Wingfield: Pied Wagtail - 1 - on roof tops of flats adj Wingfield Road

  • Aldwarke SF: Pied Wagtail - 1 ; Reed Bunting - 1 ; Chaffinch - 2 ; Moorhen - 3 ; Kestrel - 1 ; Coot - 3 ; Tufted Duck - 2 ; Common Buzzard - 4 - 1 left NE where joined by a second; 1over mobbed by C left N/NE; 1 in from S ; Sparrowhawk - 1 - over
  • Aldwarke; Liberty Steel: Peregrine - 1 - adult on water tower then 'buzzing' FPs ; Sparrowhawk - 1 - over
  • Blue Man*s Bower: Snipe - 3 ; Swallow - 2 - feeding together low over in sunshine around 0730hrs ; Kestrel - 1 - hunting ; Black-headed Gull - c100 ; Common Buzzard - 2 - much calling; mobile, same birds seen several times in this part of Rother valley ; Mallard - 56 ; 320 - 1 - drake ; Gadwall - 16 - on floodwaters ; Meadow Pipit - 3 - over ; Goldfinch - c40 - feeding in alders ; Redwing - 3 ; Goldcrest - 1

  • Cowell Flat: Stonechat - 1 - male
  • Grange Park Golf Course: 319 - 1 - @ Watson,s Tip. ; Kestrel - 1 - female/juv hunting near tip. ; Pheasant - 5 - inc 1 male flushed from tip plateau,also at least 1 Meadow Pipit and 2 Skylark here. ; Wren - 1+
