Rivelin Valley: Dipper - 2 - Both visiting nest with food ; Grey Wagtail - 8 - 2 Juveniles, saw 1 being fed ; Treecreeper - 1 ; 319 - 2 - Circling together ; Swift - 2 ; Pied Wagtail - 2 - Adult and juv on shingle by river between Wolf Wheel and Hind Wheel ; Grey Wagtail - 2 - Adult and juv, between Hind Wheel and Wolf Wheel.

St George*s: Peregrine - 2 - M brought in juv starling. F took feral pigeon from back of arts tower, after making several shallow stoops over housing estate.

Tyzack*s Dam: Canada Goose - 6 - Pair with four half-grown goslings. ; Mandarin - 2 - Female with one duckling. ; Coot - 5+ - Adult incubating on a nest near to Abbeydale Road and a pair with two almost fully-grown young from an earlier nest on the island..

Walkley Bank: Swift - 30+ - Feeding/flying around the tops of the trees in the Donkey woods.

Wharncliffe Heath NR: Pied Flycatcher - 1+ - female feeding juveniles in nest box

Wharncliffe Wood: Garden Warbler - 1 - food carrying to likely nest in scrub area

Barlow Common: Great Spotted Woodpecker - 1 ; Kestrel - 1 ; Swift - 3 ; Swallow - 03-Apr ; Grey Wagtail - 2 ; Canada Goose - 13 - flying in V formation above my garden

Baslow: Swift - 30+ - Steady passage north all day ; Siskin - 2 - Pair visiting feeders ; Goldfinch - 4 - 2 adults feeding 2 juveniles

Baslow Edge: Yellowhammer - 1 - Singing below Edge; usually 3+ here ; Willow Warbler - 1 - Carrying food ; Chiffchaff - 1 - Adult carrying food ; Pied Wagtail - 2 - Male feeding recently fledged juvenile

Bramley: Greylag Goose - 20+ - Low over village calling @ 10.00AM.

R Don Stevenson Rd to Newhall Rd: Sand Martin - Approx 50-60 - Flying low, feeding. None observed visiting nest holes. ; Kingfisher - 1 - Flying under Stevenson Rd bridge towards East Coast Rd ; Mallard - 2x f, 4x m, 5x ducklings ; Moorhen - 1

Ravenfield Church: Hobby - 1 - With House Martin Kill. ; Swallow - 10+ - With HM and Swifts low over Horse Paddock. ; House Martin - 30+ - Low over Horse Paddock also mobbing Hobby.

Rawmarsh: Kestrel - 1 - male, over towards St Mary's Church @ 0920hrs ; Swift - 08-Oct - feeding over ; Mistle Thrush - 1 - NE, then back S

Rawmarsh; Rockcliffe Road: House Sparrow - 1 - male, visited garden for past few days, picking aphids from roses.

Redmires Top Res: Common Sandpiper - 3 - Adult and two young feeding along dam wall. ; Oystercatcher - 3 - 2 Hammonds Field, 1 Roper Hill

Rivelin Valley: Tawny Owl - 2 - 2 calling at 21:30 . Single bird calling during day regularly

Thrybergh CP: Mute Swan - 4+ - Newly hatched Cygnets on nest with parent. ; Lapwing - 9 - On bare farmland with Woodpigeons @ Thrybergh Lane end.
