  • Wharncliffe Side: Chiffchaff - 2 - feeding in observers garden, one observed flycatching

  • Burbage Rocks: Black Redstart - 1 - Still present this morning ; Wheatear - 2 ; Black Redstart - 1 - Showing well at 17:30, approximately 250-300m from the road.
  • Centenary Riverside: Chiffchaff - 2 - Feeding near bridge, very brief song 11.10 ; Long-tailed Tit - Dec-15 - Feeding party. ; Blue Tit - 2 ; Robin - 1 - Singing
  • Hagg Lane Allotments: Long-tailed Tit - 8 - On feeders ; Coal Tit - 6 ; Blue Tit - 5 ; Great Tit - 2 ; Great Spotted Woodpecker - 1 ; Bullfinch - 3 - 2 juveniles, 1 female ; House Sparrow - 6 ; Blackbird - 2 ; Dunnock - 4 ; Robin - 3 ; Woodpigeon - 2 ; Magpie - 3
  • Malin Bridge: Chiffchaff - 1 - singing quietly in gardens
  • Norwood Allotments: Siskin - 13 - over south ; Swallow - 113+ - over south, mostly from 16:45 when 50 went through in a broad front. Continued until 18:00. Probably under counted. ; Pied Wagtail - 20 - over southeast at 18:30, presumably going to roost? ; 319 - 5 ; Mistle Thrush - 24 ; Black-headed Gull - 85 - hawking for insects late afternoon
  • Peat Pits: Linnet - 100+ - flushed from stubble by sparrowhawk. ; Sparrowhawk - 1 - making unsuccessful attempt to catch linnets. ; Golden Plover - 2 ; Kestrel - 1 - hunting from wall. ; Red-legged Partridge - 1 - calling.
  • Rawmarsh; Rockcliffe Road: Long-tailed Tit - 10 - in garden
  • RVCP, Meadowgate Lake: Greenshank - 1
  • Sheffield University: Peregrine - 1 - Black-headed Gull wing fresh under nest platform today - atypical prey item
  • Walkley Bank: Feral Pigeon - 1 - Juv calling and leaning out of ventilation slit on stone house, Bentley Road, eventually took off.
  • West Nab: Wheatear - 2 - fly catching from wall. ; Mistle Thrush - 2
