Brownhills Lane: White-fronted Goose - 1 - With 18 Grey-lag Geese

Forge Dam: Dipper - 2 - flying up and down stream ; 320 - 1 - Drake

Norton Lees garden: Redwing - 5

Blacka Moor: Crossbill - c20 - Showing well on the moorland edge of Strawberry Lea plantation ; Crossbill - c20 - another photo ; Crossbill - 20 - Very vocal group moving through conifers in Strawberry Lea plantation ; Crossbill - 20 - Another photo

Blacka Plantation: Crossbill - at least 20 - In west end. One male with white narrow wing bars and no obvious tertial tip brightness. Short bursts of song and pair bond kissing noted. ; Crossbill - 20+ - Same group as already mentioned ; Crossbill - 20+ - Same group

Bolehill Flash: Lesser Redpoll - C200 - Flew high towards orgreave.

Brownhills Lane: White-fronted Goose - 1 - still present though distant at 09.30 ; White-fronted Goose - 1

Canklow: Whooper Swan - 2 - 2 calling west at 1530

Catcliffe Flash: Mute Swan - 5 ; Wigeon - 8 ; Tufted Duck - 6 ; Gadwall - 43 ; Shoveler - 1 ; Coot - 47 ; Mallard - 0 ; Coot - 47

Ecclesall: Red Kite - 1 - flew low to the south at 10:48 hrs

Harthill Res: Great Crested Grebe - 24 - All in winter plumage.1 pair displaying ; Goosander - 10 ; Mallard - 28 ; Tufted Duck - 6 ; Black-headed Gull - 82 ; 321 - 1

Keppels Field: Kestrel - 1 - Hunting along E edge close to Scholes Coppice.

Kimberworth: Goldfinch - 3 - inc grey backed Goldfinch amongst ones of the normal colour. Been a regular visitor since the summer.

Moorhall: 319 - 2 - A flock of c20 Yellowhammers spooked at same time

Norton Lees garden: Redwing - 9 - Feeding on holly berries ; Redwing - 9 - Feeding on holly berries

Roper Hill: White-fronted Goose - 1 - Flew back to fields below Roper Hill with Greylags at 15.15

RVCP: Little Egret - 3 - roosting on island - main lake ; Water Rail - 1 - roosting in sedges, intermediate lake - picked out on thermal image camera

Scholes Coppice: Stock Dove - 1 - singing ; Woodpigeon - 10+ ; Wren - 1+ - at least 1 singing ; Robin - 1 - singing ; Blackbird - 3+ - feeding on Holly berries. ; Redwing - 3+ - feeding on Holly berries. ; Mistle Thrush - 1 - singing ; Long-tailed Tit - 1+ ; Coal Tit - 1 ; Blue Tit - 1+ ; Great Tit - 1+ ; Nuthatch - 1+ ; Jay - 1+ ; Magpie - 1+

Silverwood Lagoon: Short-eared Owl - 1 - brief sighting at 08.55 - presumably flushed by dog-walkers
