  • Baslow: Red Kite - 1
  • Bassingthorpe Farm: 319 - 2 - SW of farm house, occasionally mobbed by several Carrion Crows
  • Bassingthorpe Spring: Great Spotted Woodpecker - 1 - calling ; Robin - 1+ ; Dunnock - 1 ; Sparrowhawk - 1 - out of wood low along Munsbrough Lane ; Chiffchaff - 1 - at least one,moving through SE edge of wood
  • Cinder Hills: Redwing - 30+ - from brambles and hawthorn, into Scholes Coppice/Raspberry Plantation ; Linnet - 30+ - from top of Ash tree, boundary of Upper Common and Midddle Common
  • Crookes Valley Park: Shag - 4 - juv/1st w. at dusk. Disturbed by swimmers, started circling (nearly colliding with a Sparrowhawk!), 2 leaving approx. ENE at 18:04, 2 remaining. ; Shag - 4 - including colour-ringed bird - white RZW
  • Green Moor: Stonechat - 2 - Male and Female on Mucky Lane
  • Kimberworth Park: Rook - 20+ - at Roughwood Rec ; Jackdaw - 10+ - at Roughwood Rec ; Carrion Crow - 1+ - at Roughwood Rec
  • Langsett Res: Black-headed Gull - c3000 - overnight roost ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - c200 - Overnight roost
  • Longshaw: Pink-footed Goose - c600 - Four skeins heading SW between 11:00 and 12:00
  • Low Common,Scholes: Stonechat - 2 - one hovering above hawthorn, boundary with Middle Common

  • Middle Common: Kestrel - 2 - one hunting/hovering the other moved off telegraph pole by 2 Magpies ; Grey Heron - 1 - up from W edge/Cinder Hills, then N toward Wentworth lakes ; Meadow Pipit - 1+ ; Goose sp - c50 - single skein NW at 17:00

  • Kelham Island: Goosander - 1 - First male in breeding plumage, heading downstream on a fast current
  • Oughtibridge garden: Redwing - 2 - 2 birds feeding on Rowan berries ; Brambling - 1 - Feeding on lawn with 4 Chaffinch
  • R Don, Effingham St: Goosander - 5 - 3 imm males, 2 redheads
  • Shepherd Wheel: Kingfisher - 1 - male, sat on a post for 10-15 minutes before catching a fish
  • Silverwood Lagoon: Pink-footed Goose - 10+ - heard, heading SW in fog at 09.30
