Rawmarsh Cemetery: Tawny Owl - 1 - male calling around 0540hrs, with probably a second, more distant bird responding

Rawmarsh Methodist Church: Mistle Thrush - 1 - onto favoured spire-top perch @ 1330hrs

Rawmarsh; Rockcliffe Road: Long-tailed Tit - 13+ - flock, passed quickly through garden, heading W

Rivelin Valley: Fieldfare - c,60 - In the air, and one seen in tree, near Coppice Road

Sharrow: Pink-footed Goose - 1+ - flock heard over at 1819 hrs ; Pink-footed Goose - 1+ - addition flock heard over at 20.27. Both flocks sounded to be at low altitude

Silver Wood: Jay - 1 - Feeding on pavement near old NCB terraced houses. ; 319 - 1 ; Nuthatch - 2 - Calling. ; Lesser Redpoll - 10+ - Feeding in treetops at edge of woods. ; Chaffinch - 1 ; Woodpigeon - 200+ - Feeding on woodland floor.

Thrybergh CP: Goldeneye - 5 - One male ; Tufted Duck - c100 ; Gadwall - 55 ; Pochard - 9 ; Great Crested Grebe - 10 ; Water Rail - 1 ; Grey Partridge - 16 - Best numbers all year

Beauchief Golf Course: Goldcrest - 2 ; Redwing - 5 ; Kingfisher - 1 - On lower pond ; Moorhen - 4 ; Mallard - 6 ; Nuthatch - 1

Curbar: Redwing - 30+ - Feeding on holly hedge just outside village ; Blackbird - 20 - Feeding on windfall apples in small orchard in village ; Fieldfare - 2+ - In ornamental berry bush in garden

Hangingwater garden: Coal Tit - 2 ; Long-tailed Tit - 6 ; Jay - 1 ; Mistle Thrush - 1 - singing in tall trees ; Blackbird - 4 - 3m, incl one 1st W, 1f ; Blackcap - 2 - 1m (back garden), 1f (front garden)! ; Goldfinch - 12 ; Chaffinch - 4 - 2m, incl one 1st W, 2f ; Magpie - 1 ; Robin - 2 ; Dunnock - 2 ; Woodpigeon - 3 ; Bullfinch - 1 - f ; Blue Tit - 2 ; Song Thrush - 1

Thrybergh CP: Lapwing - 200+ ; Golden Plover - 32 - Landed field SE Of graveyard ; Water Rail - 1 ; Tufted Duck - 80+ ; Pochard - 9 ; Gadwall - 44 ; Shoveler - 2 - 2m/f ; Lesser Redpoll - 3 ; Kestrel - 1 - fem

Baslow: Goosander - 5 - Redheads on river above weir ; Redwing - 11 - Feeding on holly in church yard

Crosspool: Tawny Owl - 1 - roosting in its usual tree hollow

Holmebrook Valley Park: Goosander - 16 - 10 males and 6 females

Leadmill Bridge: Fieldfare - c30 - feeding in trees nearby

Norfolk Heritage Park: Lapwing - 1 - Appeared with jerky flight and alarm calls over treetops, and briefly flew through trees. Shortly followed by a bird of prey, probably a Peregrine. They both flew off in twisting/turning chase towards Cholera Monument.

Norfolk Park: Ring-necked Parakeet - c20 - Flock flew over Sheffield and Rotherham WT HQ
