  • Brightside: Pink-footed Goose - c180 - heading east towards Meadowhall at 12:57
  • Catcliffe Flash: Mute Swan - 6 - ad pr + 4 imm ; Wigeon - 45+ ; 320 - 18 ; Gadwall - 50+ ; Shoveler - 9+ ; Tufted Duck - 3 ; Cormorant - 3 ; Moorhen - 12+ ; Coot - 49 ; Black-headed Gull - c25
  • Firsby Res: Mallard - 4 - 3 Males 1 F. ; Grey Heron - 1 ; Kestrel - 1 - On wires., ; 319 - 1 - Calling.
  • Highfield: Whooper Swan - 3+ - flew west at 23:02 at about 30 ft above the rooftops regulary calling over Highfields and well illuminated by city lights
  • Intake: Chiffchaff - 1 - In observers garden.
  • Meersbrook Park: Woodpigeon - 25+ - Feeding on ground at top of Park
  • Millhouses Park: Red Kite - 1
  • R Don, Stevenson Rd: Little Egret - 1 - feeding in river ; Goosander - 4 - redheads
  • Redmires: Crossbill - 14 - flying between conifer plantations
  • Redmires Middle Res: Golden Plover - c50 - on north shore with Lapwings; very mobile.
  • Sheffield University: Peregrine - 1 - adult female circled from flats N of Arts Tower and landed on lights in centre of Brookhill roundabout, then hopping from one light cover to the next.
  • Silver Wood: Pink-footed Goose - c.150 - east at 10.50
  • Wingfield: 319 - 2 - Over flats causing 20+ feral pigeons to scatter@13:35.

  • Greystones garden: Sparrowhawk - 1 - Male perched on garden bench just outside kitchen window
  • Holmebrook Valley Park: Great Crested Grebe - 3 - Now 3 adults on lake ; Moorhen - 8 ; Coot - 4 ; Mallard - 52 ; Black-headed Gull - 43 ; Tufted Duck - 1 - Male ; Mute Swan - 6
  • Kimberworth: Goldfinch - 5 - On garden seed feeder
  • Norwood Allotments: Ring-necked Parakeet - 3 - 2 this morning and 3 this afternoon. Briefly perched in trees. ; Brambling - 1 - over south at 16:45 calling
  • Pit-house West: BITTERN - 1 - Flew to roost from southern end of pool at 18:10 ; Water Rail - 2 - Calling at dusk ; Willow Tit - 2 - Among tit flock behind 'Bittern Pool'

  • Dog Kennel Pond: Great Crested Grebe - 3 ; Cormorant - 1 - Took quite large fish ; 319 - 1 ; Moorhen - 2 ; Black-headed Gull - 17 ; Mute Swan - 4 - Resident family.
  • Kiveton Community Woodland: Hen Harrier - 1 - Hunting low over the grass on top of site
