• Pit-house West: BITTERN - 1 - Went into roost at 16.40 ; Water Rail - 4 - At least 4 ; Brambling - 1 ; Yellowhammer - 16 - At least 16 roosted in the red bed ; BITTERN - 1 - Flew to roost at 16:30 on Bittern Pool ; Water Rail - 4 - At least 4 calling late afternoon: 2+ on Bittern Pool and 2 on lower reedbed ; Yellowhammer - 8 - At least into roost on Bittern Pool
• R Derwent, Hathersage: Goosander - 3 - 2 females, 1 male. Plus 5 dippers,
• Redmires Bottom Res: Curlew - 1 - Flying over Soughley Lane towards top reservoir
• Redmires Plantation: Crossbill - 3 - One singing in flight
• Redmires Top Res: Brambling - 3+ - possibly 4 or 5 roadside with small flock of Chaffinches
• Rother Valley CP: Smew - 1 - Redhead still on small lake at Southern end of reserve ; Smew - 1 - redhead still showing at 11.30 ; Little Egret - 1 - in reeds behind intermediate lake. ; Smew - 1 - redhead on scree pond. ; Little Egret - 1 - On scree pond. ; Red-crested Pochard - 1 ; Red-crested Pochard - 1 - Female type Dozing on small island on Meadowgate Lake ; Little Egret - 1 - Intermediate pond ; Smew - 1 - Redhead showing well on intermediate pond late afternoon still
