Blackburn Meadows NR: Kestrel - 1 - Flew over Coggin Mill Way, Centurian business park, 09.30

Canklow Woods: Chiffchaff - 1 - 1 singing

Kelham Island: House Martin - 10+ - Feeding (?) in the rain over the swollen river

Orgreave Lakes: Red-breasted Merganser - 1 - 4th patch record on big lake with Great Crested Grebes ; Little Egret - 1 ; Red-breasted Merganser - 1 - Partial eclipse male on big lake from 17:20

Redmires Middle Res: Linnet - c40 - very mobile flock feeding in res basin.

Redmires Top Res: Common Scoter - 6 - 1 male, 5 females at 1545, appeared to fly off North into mist at 1555

Thrybergh CP: Swallow - c10 - Feeding low over water. ; House Martin - c10 - Feeding with Swallows low over water 16:00hrs approx, blustery with drizzly rain.

Blackburn Brook: Dipper - 1 - seen from bridge over the brook along Fife Street

Cinder Hills: Long-tailed Tit - 6+ ; Nuthatch - 1+ ; Jay - 1 ; Goldfinch - 1+

Dog Kennel Pond: Great Crested Grebe - 2 ; Grey Heron - 1 ; Moorhen - 6+ ; Coot - 1+ ; Pheasant - 10+ - back n' forth low over lake. ; Black-headed Gull - 20+ ; Kingfisher - 1+ ; Grey Wagtail - 2 ; Nuthatch - 1 ; Robin - 1 - singing

Endcliffe Park: Dipper - 1 - Near Hunters Bar at 07:15. Seemed to be struggling to find rocks to perch on due to high water levels.

Ewden Height: Meadow Pipit - 505 - Strong movement 7.30-8.20 and still happening as I left. ; Swallow - 11 south ; Chaffinch - 16 - south ; Pied Wagtail - 21 - South in small groups 7.30-8.20 ; Goldfinch - 33+ - Group of 30+ incl juvs feeding plus 3 south ; Stock Dove - 3 south ; Linnet - 7 south ; Jackdaw - 20 - south in 3's and 4's ; Skylark - 7 - 4SW, 1+2 south ; Starling - 4 south
