  • Brightside: Ring-necked Parakeet - 39 - at roost ; 324 - 1 - Alexendrine Parakeet, roosting male snuggled up next to a female Ring-necked.
  • Loxley: Barn Owl - 1 - Hunting on fields below Admiral Rodney
  • Newhall: Ring-necked Parakeet - c38 - In trees on Brightside Lane at 07:25.
  • Ringinglow: Fieldfare - 50 - c. in fields
  • Tideswell: Common Gull - 250+ - Feeding in fields between Tideswell and Windmill
  • Upper Derwent: Peregrine - 2
  • Wharncliffe Wood: Crossbill - 1 - Signing ; Lesser Redpoll - 1 - Singing ; Siskin - 10+ ; Sparrowhawk - 1 - Female hunting

  • Ecclesfield Park: Black-headed Gull - 73 ; Grey Wagtail - 1
  • Firsby Res: Mallard - 1 ; Mute Swan - 4 - Arrived together two down on main Res. First record this year. ; 319 - 1 - On ground in sheep paddock. ; Kestrel - 1 ; Barn Owl - 1 - Hunting at dusk. ; Grey Wagtail - 1 - On sluice.
  • Greystones garden: Blackcap - 2 - M&F ; Bullfinch - 1 - Male
  • Ibbotson*s Dam: Kingfisher - 1 ; Redwing - 4
  • Low Moor, Upper Midhope: Lapwing - c10
  • Lowfield/Highfield: Grey Heron - 1 - Flew east over Asda on Queen's Road. Might have come from River Sheaf which passes under Charlotte Road, which is nearby.

  • Rotherham Centre: Jackdaw - c100 - two flocks of c50, wheeling & tumbling over town centre in sunshine
