Parkwood Springs: Common Buzzard - 3 - together over Oakham Drive 10:00 ; Sparrowhawk - 1 - up with CBs at 10am

Pitsmoor: Common Buzzard - 2 - chasing each other over Petre Street ; Raven - 2 - low over to E, chasing and talon grappling, one returned W towards Shirecliffe shortly after.

Shillito Wood: Little Owl - 1 - on derelict barn to east of woods

Silverwood Lagoon: Barn Owl - 1 - hunting at dawn ; Green Woodpecker - 1 - yaffking in south-west paddocks ; BITTERN - 1 - heard booming in western reedbed on and off (approx. every 10 minutes) 07.35 to 08.40. ; Reed Bunting - 7 - singing ; Fieldfare - 4 ; Meadow Pipit - 2 ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - 2 - probably a pair ; Jay - 4 ; Common Buzzard - 3 ; Grey Partridge - 2 - first on pit top this year. Just about clinging on ; Cormorant - 1 ; Song Thrush - 3 - singing

Wharncliffe Side: Waxwing - 10+ - Still present in mature trees at the end of school lane, making occasional trips to garden below feeding on cotoneaster berries

Bitholmes Wood: Blue Tit - 20+ ; Dunnock - 2 ; Chaffinch - 1 ; Bullfinch - 1 - female ; Great Tit - 3 ; Coal Tit - 2 ; Long-tailed Tit - 8+ ; Robin - 7+ ; Goldfinch - 1 ; Pheasant - 1 - male ; Blackbird - 1 ; Wren - 5 ; Nuthatch - 1 ; Woodpigeon - 2 ; Jackdaw - 3 ; 324 - 1 - 1 Red Deer seen, and judging by comparing footprints size, smaller deer sp. in there too.

Buckleather Lane: Barn Owl - 1 - hunting

Cowell Flat: Woodcock - 2 - roding ; Snipe - 3+ - chipping and drumming after dark

Dronfield: 319 - 1 - Circling over Greendale & then flew towards Frith Wood

Ewden Beck: 319 - 2 - soaring, calling and circling each other then flying along valley towards Moor Hall Res.
