Rockingham Wood: Great Spotted Woodpecker - 1 - calls

Scholes Ground: 319 - 2 - together, drifting over Cascades, possibly following tractors

Spittal Houses: Hirundine - 100+ - over 100 House Martins & Swallows on wires roofs and in air - lovely to see

Thrybergh CP: Mute Swan - 53 ; Lapwing - 77 ; Common Sandpiper - 1 ; 319 - 5 ; Kestrel - 3 ; Sparrowhawk - 1 ; Kingfisher - 1 ; Swallow - 60+ - Small numbers moving southward ; House Martin - 60+ ; Goldcrest - 2 ; Pied Wagtail - 6 ; Grey Wagtail - 3

Underbank Res: Hirundine - 400+ - large gathering around sunset over resr and plantations to the S, mainly Swallow and House Martin but at least 3 Sand Martins. Still looking to roost towards W end at 19:40 ; Sand Martin - 3 - with large hirundine flock

Upper Common, Scholes: Skylark - 4+ ; Meadow Pipit - 2+ ; Linnet - 1+ ; 319 - 1 - circling low over field near Remount cottages

Wentworth Park: House Martin - 3+ - over deer park

White Rake: Wheatear - 1

Barley Hall: House Martin - 100+ ; Swallow - 10 ; Mistle Thrush - 4 ; Grey Wagtail - 1

Carr Vale NR: Red-breasted Merganser - 1 - flew through

Aldwarke; Liberty Steels: Peregrine - 1 - adult, probably female, on safety rail from 0745hrs. Displaced by BZ which it mobbed noisily. Returned to rail later ; Common Buzzard - 1 - settled on safety rail before chased off by PE
