  • Whiteley Woods: Great Spotted Woodpecker - 1 - Male drumming

  • Blacka Moor: Raven - 1 - Cronking overhead ; Pink-footed Goose - 200 approx - Flew towards Hathersage ; Stonechat - 3
  • Crimicar Drive Garden: Redwing - 1
  • Damflask Res: White-fronted Goose - 1 - 1st. winter feeding with 200+ Greylag Geese in fields between the reservoir and Loxley Rd (immediately south of the junction of Loxley Road and Trouble Wood Lane, SK 27584 91284).
  • Gleadless Valley LNR: Greenfinch - 1 - heard
  • Graves Park: Redwing - c22 - one flock of around 20 in Chantrey Meadow area ; Song Thrush - 1
  • Greystones garden: Sparrowhawk - 1 ; Redwing - 1 - In Holly bush ; Long-tailed Tit - 3
  • Hillsborough Park: Black-headed Gull - c200 - my highest count here Jan-Mar
  • Hurlfield: Tawny Owl - 1 - Very vocal at 06:00
  • Keppels Field: Goose sp - 150+ - NW @ 10:10, one large skein with smaller formation behind.
  • Kimberworth: Redwing - 6 - ground feeding in Masbrough cemetery
  • Langsett Wood: Goldfinch - c30 ; Greenfinch - 3
  • Manor Fields Park: Water Rail - 1 - again in reedbed. ; Snipe - 1 - in reedbed area then flushed by squabbling moorhens. ; Moorhen - 4 ; Mallard - 2 - a pair on frozen pond. ; Grey Wagtail - 1 - seemingly to roost in reedbed 17:00. ; Herring Gull - 1 - adult on nearby rooftop with LBBGull. ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - 1 - adult. ; Redwing - c10 - on site feeding on ground. ; Song Thrush - 4

  • Midhope Res: Little Grebe - 1 ; Mallard - c30 ; 320 - 27+ - High count around 9am with water 50% frozen ; Siskin - 5+ ; Coal Tit - 4+ - Singing ; Treecreeper - 2
  • Millhouses garden: Magpie - 1 ; Great Tit - 1
  • Moss Road Totley: Green Woodpecker - 1 - Green Woodpecker. Flew overhead yaffling. ; Great Spotted Woodpecker - 1 - Flew towards Strawberry Lee plantation. Could also hear drumming ; Lesser Redpoll - 8 - feeding and calling ; Willow Tit - 1 - Orange and blue ringed coming to feeder.

  • Norfolk Heritage Park: Song Thrush - 1 - singing ; Nuthatch - 1
  • Norfolk Park garden: Jay - 1 - Flew through ; Coal Tit - 1 ; Great Tit - 1 ; Blue Tit - 2 ; Dunnock - 2 ; Robin - 1 ; Woodpigeon - 2 ; Magpie - 2 - pair flew through ; Herring Gull - 5 - mix of adults and sub adults on neighbouring roofs ; Goldfinch - 4 ; Blackbird - 2 - 2m + 1f ; House Sparrow - c7 ; Wren - 1 ; Collared Dove - 1 ; Ring-necked Parakeet - 9 - flew over from Arbourthorne direction towards city centre
  • Norfolk Park; Park Grange estate: Lesser Black-backed Gull - 1 - Sitting on top of lamppost.
  • Norton Lees: Bullfinch - 1 - male
  • Norton Lees garden: Blackcap - 1m
  • Rawmarsh; Rockcliffe Road: Sparrowhawk - 1 - male, hunting through gardens @ 1020hrs, avoiding a brick wall by inches/a split second! ; Long-tailed Tit - 1 - in garden
  • Silverwood Lagoon: Little Grebe - 1 - Calling often. ; 320 - 2 - A pair. ; Herring Gull - 8 ; Common Gull - 4+ ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - 1 - Resident adult. ; Jay - 1
  • Stannington: Peregrine - 1 - Stooping at feral pigeon, over junction Oldfield Rd and Church St..
  • Summerley: Redwing - 40 - Feeding in fields ; Mistle Thrush - 3 - Feeding with Redwing ; Kestrel - 1 ; Pied Wagtail - 2
  • Walkley garden: Carrion Crow - 1 - Fat ball holder unhooked from rose branch daily, contents eaten on floor by clever bird ; Long-tailed Tit - 2 - With small mixed tit flock in conifers.
  • Worrall: Stonechat - 2 - pair feeding in horse paddock immediately south of Low Ash Farm
