• Hangingwater garden: Whooper Swan - 120+ - over NW at 09:45
• Hay Wood: 319 - 2
• Hesley Wood east: 319 - 1 - sat preening in tree before flying off. ; Redwing - c30 ; Bullfinch - 1 - m ; Treecreeper - 3 - pair + 1 in different area of wood ; Great Spotted Woodpecker - 1 - Drumming ; 324 - 2 - m & f Roe Deer. Not seen here before.
• High Green: Whooper Swan - 60 - incredibly low over north at c09:00
• High Green (farmland above): Lesser Black-backed Gull - 6 - 5 south, 1 north ; Pink-footed Goose - 56 - Skeins of 22 and 34 high north at 9.17 and 9.20 ; Skylark - 4 ; Green Woodpecker - 1 - Wharncliffe bird ; Meadow Pipit - 30 - Small groups north 8.45-9.45 ; Yellowhammer - 2 - 1 singing ; Curlew - Pair - Attempted copulating ; Linnet - 2 ; Mistle Thrush - 1 - singing ; Kestrel - 2 - 1 performing butterfly display flight ; Crossbill - 1 ; Lapwing - 1 - south ; Sparrowhawk - 1 - female ; Grey Heron - 1 - Flew SW ; 319 - 1

• Rawmarsh: Common Buzzard - 07-Sep - 2 over @ 1230hrs, 1 left N, other E/SE. Max 7 up together 1555-1625hrs, with much interaction/calling. Most left NW
• Redmires Middle Res: Curlew - 50 - Came in to roost ; Lapwing - 45 - Came in to roost ; Oystercatcher - 12 - Two groups of 6, plus possibly another pair
• Redmires Res: Curlew - 50 - c. roosted - 44 in fields on Roper Hill at dusk departed for the Middle Res ; Lapwing - 30 - in fields on Roper Hill

• Silver Wood: Chiffchaff - 2 - singing along disused r/way line
• Silverwood Lagoon: Green Woodpecker - 1 - in southern paddocks. First record for over six months, on its way out locally. ; Cormorant - 1 - north ; Lesser Redpoll - 2 ; Common Buzzard - 4 ; Bullfinch - 2 ; Reed Bunting - 6 - 4 singing ; Linnet - 10 ; Skylark - 10 - 4 singing ; Song Thrush - 1 - singing ; Meadow Pipit - 11 - in coarse grass beyond northern end of lagoon ; Rook - 5 - west ; Chiffchaff - 4 - singing ; Jay - 5
• Spout House Hill: Fieldfare - 80 ; Starling - 150 - skittish flock feeding in rough grass and associated with Fieldfare flock until a fast Sparrowhawk attack took one of them ; Curlew - 3 - fields adjacent Brightholmlee Rd
• Stanage Edge: Raven - 1 ; Raven - 1
• Strines Res: Whooper Swan - 68 - 68 at 10:05, still present at midday ; Whooper Swan - 68 - still present at 18.10hrs ; Great Black-backed Gull - 1 - 2w
• Thorpe Hesley: Kestrel - 1 - First seen from garden this year. Hovering over nearby field.
