  • Barlow Common: Yellowhammer - 5 ; Blackcap - 1 ; Chiffchaff - 1 ; Linnet - 2 ; Nuthatch - 1
  • Big Moor: Whimbrel - 1 - flying around the NE corner (Barbrook Cottage/Car Top/Bucka Hill area) at low to moderate height for 15-20 minutes from 07.55hrs, calling frequently and interacting with the local Curlews. Last seen heading S/SSW
  • Blacka Moor: Tree Pipit - 2 - At least 2 in display flights from birch trees as you enter Strawberry Lea ; Stonechat - 1 - 1 female ; Wheatear - 1 ; Raven - 1
  • Blackburn Meadows NR: Lesser Whitethroat - 1 - Singing along Deadmans Hole Lane
  • Brownhills Lane: Oystercatcher - 1 - In roadside fields
  • Calfhey Wood: Redstart - 2 - two singing ; Crossbill - c20
  • Ecclesall road south: Great Spotted Woodpecker - 1 - Single male in our Apple tree
  • Fagney Clough: Ring Ouzel - 1 - female foraging
  • Hillsborough: Swallow - 2 - low E over Hillsborough corner
  • Hillsborough Park: Moorhen - 4 - inc adult with 2 half grown chicks.
  • Lowfield: Greenfinch - 1 - Male singing in top of tree at edge of Asda car park alongside the busy Queen's Rd. First noticed a male singing here a few weeks ago, so I assume it has a nest nearby.
  • Loxley Valley: Mistle Thrush - 5+ - adults with recently-fledged young. ; Barn Owl - 1 ; Woodcock - 1 - roding.
