  • Malin Bridge: Swift - 20+ - screams of Swifts all afternoon .In and around Norris Rd and school. Flocks of 5 coming down to eave level looking for nest sites. ; Starling - 30+ - Coming into Norris Rd garden . feeding on mealworms and taking them to their chicks.
  • Meersbrook Park: Willow Warbler - 1 - singing near Beeton Road entrance
  • Nether Edge: Swift - 8 - feeding over Crescent Road/Empire Road towards dusk
  • Norfolk Park: Ring-necked Parakeet - c8 - a flock past observer's house at about 06:30 every morning this week - possibly coming from Norfolk Heritage Park and going to Meersbrook Park?
  • Norton Lees: Willow Warbler - 1 - singing in back gardens Thorpe House Road/Thorpe House Avenue

  • Ulley Brook Bog: Lapwing - 4+ - 1 pair with at least 2 small chick's. In field between bog and M1. ; Yellowhammer - 3 - 2 singing males and 1 female.
  • Upper Derwentdale: Cuckoo - 3 - calling from Fairholmes, Derwent Res and Slippery Stones
  • Wharncliffe Side: Cuckoo - 2 - Heard only, calling loudly at 1810 for at least 15 minutes.
  • Wyming Brook: Wood Warbler - 2 - Singing ; Song Thrush - 3 - Singing ; Willow Warbler - 2 - Singing

  • Barlow Common: 319 - 1 ; Chiffchaff - 1 ; Swallow - 4 ; Song Thrush - 1 ; Pied Wagtail - 1 ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - up to 25 - in a flock, circling low
  • Bell Ground, Tankersley: Gadwall - 4 - 2 pairs ; Moorhen - 2 ; Mallard - 14 ; Yellowhammer - 1 - Male ; Chiffchaff - 2 - Singing
  • Bolehill Flash: Whitethroat - 10+ ; Yellowhammer - 3 ; Sedge Warbler - 3+ ; Grey Wagtail - 2
  • Broomhead Res: Siskin - 1+ - adult feeding 3 fledged juv's in sycamore tree.
  • Burbage Valley: Oystercatcher - 1+ - 1, poss 2, flew south towards Padley ; Cuckoo - 2 - 2 singing males still ; Whitethroat - 1 - singing ; Red Kite - 1 ; Ring Ouzel - 2 - pair
  • Carr House Meadows: Pied Flycatcher - 1 - male singing near recently placed nest box
  • Cutthroat Bridge: Ring Ouzel - 2 - sing males ; Cuckoo - 1 - singing bird.
