Orgreave Lakes: Redshank - 1 ; Common Sandpiper - 1 ; Sand Martin - 80+ - In a large mixed hirundine flock feeding over NE corner of main lake and plains before drifting high to the SW. ; House Martin - 60+ - In mixed hirundine flock. ; Swallow - c10 - In mixed hirundine flock ; Swift - 2 - With hirundine flock. ; Sedge Warbler - 1 - Quiet sub-song. In scrub N of footbridge.

Rawmarsh: Raven - 1 - high & fast to E @ 1258hrs

Redmires Middle Res: Yellow-legged Gull - 1 - showing well, mid-afternoon ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - 36+ ; Swallow - 25+

Southgrove Road: Swift - 1 - 1 at assumed nest site (previously unrecorded).

Thrybergh CP: Great Crested Grebe - 7 - ads ; Little Grebe - 2 - 1d1j ; Cormorant - 6 ; Mute Swan - 45 ; Canada Goose - 37 ; Shoveler - 1 - f/jpast n ; Tufted Duck - 61 ; Sparrowhawk - 2 ; Kestrel - 1 ; Common Sandpiper - 1 ; Swift - 20+ ; Swallow - 8 - 1s1s6s ; Grey Wagtail - 1 ; Robin - 17 ; Blackcap - 5 ; Whitethroat - 3 ; Willow Warbler - 2 ; Chiffchaff - 40 - at least 21 in old filterbed and hedgerow below dam ; Reed Warbler - 1 ; Goldfinch - 120+

Treeton Dyke: Cetti's Warbler - 1 - calling frequently by concrete slipway at north end

Barlow Common: Tawny Owl - 1 - perched in a tree at dusk, and calling intermittently

Big Moor: Redstart - 1 ; Wheatear - 1

Bowden Housteads Wood: Ring-necked Parakeet - 2

Brincliffe Edge: Blackcap - 3 - female/juveniles in garden

Carr Vale NR: SABINE'S GULL - 1 - moulting adult from the mound this morning until 09:50, then flew S.

Catcliffe Flash: Shoveler - 3 ; Pochard - 3 ; Little Egret - 1 - 1 bird dropped in to roost at 20.05. Still present at 20.40.

Dog Kennel Pond: Great Crested Grebe - 3 ; Mallard - 10+ ; Tufted Duck - 3 ; Coot - 1 ; Moorhen - 1 ; Black-headed Gull - 30+ ; Pheasant - 1+ ; Kingfisher - 2 - probably same birds seen on Morley ; Chiffchaff - 1+ - inc juvs ; Blue Tit - 1+ ; Nuthatch - 1+ - calls

Green Moor: Little Owl - 3 - Adult and two owlets ; Little Owl - 3 - photo ; Little Owl - 3 - photo ; Tawny Owl - 1 - One calling

Morley Pond: Great Crested Grebe - 1 ; Grey Heron - 1 - juv high in tree ; Mallard - 10+ ; Coot - 1 ; Moorhen - 1 ; 319 - 1 ; Kingfisher - 2 ; House Martin - 20+ - some low over water ; Swallow - 1+

Onesmoor bottom: Little Owl - 3 - 2 adults + 1 juv sat on dry stone wall .

Orgreave Lakes: Lesser Black-backed Gull - 290 - Peaked at 290 but lots of birds washing off briefly before through NW. ; Herring Gull - 9 - Pre roost ; Black-headed Gull - C500 - Peaked at c 500 ; Common Gull - 1 ; Common Sandpiper - 2 ; Swift - 20 ; Yellow-legged Gull - 5 - pre roost ; CASPIAN GULL - 1 - prob 2cy bird, outer primaries moulted out.
